Swansea City Association Football Club (also known as The Swans, or The Jacks: the reason behind the latter is unclear, but there are two possible origins: one is the reputation of local seamen "Jack Tars" in the early 19th Century, while the other is the black retriever dog called Swansea Jack who rescued no fewer than 27 people from drowning in the River Tawe and Swansea Docks during the 1930s) are a Welsh professional football club based in Swansea, Wales.

Swansea were founded in 1912 as Swansea Town - the area around Swansea traditionally had been a rugby area, and despite previous attempts by a football club named Swansea Villa, there were no notable football clubs until the establishment of Swansea Town AFC in the summer of 1912. Following the lead of many other South Wales sides, the club joined the second division of the Southern League for the following season. A site owned by Swansea Gaslight Co., called Vetch Field due to the vegetables that grew there, was rented to be the club's ground. The club's first professional match was a 1–1 draw at the Vetch Field against Cardiff City on 7 September 1912.

In 2011 Swansea City became the first Welsh football club to gain promotion to the Premier League, and have since built a firm reputation as one of the most attack minded clubs in the league professing an attractive brand of football, starting with former Everton manager and current Belgian national team head coach, Roberto Martínez in League One, and subsequently the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Brian Laudrup. Swansea City's main rivals are Cardiff City, with the rivalry described as among the most hostile in British football - with matches between the two clubs known as the South Wales derbies. Swansea play their home games at the Liberty Stadium.

Will probably see something like that. If Pogba doesn't start then his future here doesn't look great.

The international break ruins everything! 2 weeks until our next game. :(

Hopefully we'll come back after the break with clearer heads.

Although, we've a poor record after international breaks, haven't we?

Normally I hate international breaks, but I don't really mind this time.

    International break, for what?? Friendlies?

They've gotta get this crap under control. No need for friendlies when there's no real matches to be played.

Yep. It doesn't take too much thought to cut this nonsense break out, end the season a week earlier, and have any friendly there.
We'll have a couple of world cup warm up games then anyway!

It's vital before next season that Sanchez, Pogba and Martial learn how to play well together, if we are going to have a decent go at the title. Hopefully all 3 will start.

    Lukaku, Rashford.

Would like to see us lineup with a diamond in midfield but I know it's wishful thinking.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
    Matic
    McTominay Pogba
    Lingard
    Lukaku Martial

It's difficult to guess the starting line up now incase of any injuries during the international break but if everyone is fit then team should be:

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Young
    Matic Pogba
    Sanchez Mata Rashford
    Lukaku

Smalling and Valencia both deserve to be dropped because they are mostly at fault for all the sideways passing that Mourinho was talking about. The problem is we don't have a capable replacement for Valencia so he keeps his place but we have plenty of options at center back so Smalling comes out and if Rojo is fit then he starts. He can pass through the lines a lot better and he plays with intensity which is needed at home to break down small teams. I want to see the partnership with Bailly from last season again.

Will Herrera be back for this?

Am I right in thinking Liverpool could be above us when we play this?

If they win, they'll be one point clear but we'll have two games in hand. One is this and the other is against City, so we really need to win this one.

Would love a return to our early season 4-0 results.

We generally start the games at such a great tempo, then after 10 minutes the opposition gets the ball and then we slow riiiiiiiiiiight down. We need to find a way to maintain the tempo we start with.

Going to my first game this year as well.
Dying to see an attacking display.
