Do You Think Cristiano Ronaldo Is The Most Exciting Young Player In Europe?

I think it's out of him, Fernando Torres, Antonio Cassano and Obafemi Martins.

At the moment i would give it to Antonio Cassano, he is unbeleivable for 21 year old.

Cassano seems mature well beyond his age. Watched him in the Roma derby this morning and he looked like one of the more influential players. Martins and Torres are both exciting in their own ways, but for me, nothing compares to Cristiano, especially when you factor in his progress this year and what he'll probably do next year.

yeh, i agree, He and Cassano are great great players. and besides the 2 of them, I think Pablo Aimar is a good player also

What would be your top 5 in order?

Never heard of Aimar?

I've never heard of this Cassano lad either. :nervous:

I've seen Cristiano Ronaldo play though. Top scorer in the World Cup. And I heard that he wasn't fully fit.

Interesting list, i must admit i totally forgot about Kaka.

I would'nt have Wayne Rooney that high.

I must say, i have seen very little good of Vincent Kompany, so he is really as promising as people say?

That Bastian Schweinsteiger seems to have the playing style of a 35 year old, i think he is going to be a really good player.

1. Antonio Cassano
2. Kaka
3. Fernando Torres
4. Cristiano Ronaldo
5. Obaemi Martins
6. Javer Saviola
7. Rafael van Der Vaart
8. Arjen Robben
9. Jose Antonio Reyes
10. Carlos Tevez

I tell you, there are some funny people in here.

How is saying that you havent heard of someone funny?

I wasn't trying to be funny...More sarcastic. Saying a 25 year old Pablo Aimar is "good also" must be the understatement of the year. He's a bloody genius.

Unfortunately you were to stupid to detect this.

Very clever, especially coming from Islington, the most p*ssy area in London.

Thank you.

Maybe one day you can be as clever......One day....... :smirk:

When you go into a thread, try actually adding somethig interesting instead of trying to be clever.

What about Arsenal's young players, any of them make the list?

Please don't say David 'the new bergkamp' Bentley.

10. Carlos Tevez

Saviola isn't really young anymore. He's been on the scene for years. Tevez doesn't play in Europe.

Age makes a big difference in this comparison.

Cassano has a lot of experience compared to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo can already boss most of his direct competitors.

But sure at this stage Kaka and Cassano would probably be in front of Ronaldo. Not for long though.

He's not the new Bergkamp....He's the new Gazza, minus the attitude. ;)

Then we've got Senderos. Personally, I've never seen a more accomplished young centre back(barring Kompany). He's got decent pace, heading ability, good positioning, and for someone so young he's an excellent reader of the game.

Cesc Fabregas is my favourite of the lot. He's a 16 year old Spaniard playmaker and he seems to have everything. Dare I say it, he reminds me of a young Zidane.

Reyes - Obviously.

Don't forget Jeremie Aliadiere . Born in 1983 and the same age as Reyes. Very fast with an explosive burst of pace over a short distance, his style of playing is similar to Thierry Henry. He's a very creative goalscorer. And he broke the national youth FA Cup goalscoring record which was previously held by Michael Owen.

Clichy is still a youngster as well, and Pennant if he stays with us.

I think Owusu-Abeyie is alright as well, although apparently he has a bit of an attitude problem.

Same goes for Cassano.

He hasn't really come to light since moving to Roma from Bari though. Back then he was all hype, he's made his breakthrough in the past 12 months.

Not much home grown talent there then.

Nope, no Cockneys. Barrett's alright though, wouldn't suprise me if he made it.

How many excellent young Mancs do Man Utd have coming through?

True but you could say that Saviola still hasn’t made the breakthrough.
Rijkaard seems to be the first coach to put coplete faith in him, he is also still Internationaly inexperienced, I think Saviola qualfies.

Oh I'm not saying he doesn't. He's just not that new to me. I've been watching him for 5 years.

I couldn't tell you, i don't know who is a manc and who isn't but there are lots of young brits doing well. Keiran Richardson is from Greenwhich and Sylvain Bankes is from Cambridge but i dont know about others.

Plus
John Spector (USA)
Markus Neuymur (GER)
Floribert Ngalula (CON)
Mads Timm (SWE)

You're right Timm is Dansh, sorry.

United seem to integrate a few foreigners into their youth system, it has'nt produced any good ones yet but apparently Floribert Ngalula is a very talented 17 yr old central midfielder, as if we need another one.

I think Timm is Danish.

And I think it's Blake, not Bankes.

Unless you have two similar in which case it's my mistake.

The lucky bugger scored a jammy goal against us last year. Our keeper took a goal kick and fell over, the ball rolled straight to Blake and he tapped it in the empty net. Seems a good player though.

A pity they never get a game.

I was browsing Arsenal-Mania.com after the FA cup semi and the Gooners there were giving Aliadiere a real hammering. 'Good young player but not good enough for Arsenal' was the message from many of your lot then.

Whether Cris is the most exciting or best doesnt bother me, so long as he continues to play with the same enthusiasm and irrepressable nature while respecting the club he is playing for as he has done so far that is all we can ask. He will have his peaks and troughs but has years in which to improve so I really hope he steers clear of injury and fatigue because he is fast becoming a favourite of mine.
