"Henry, fichado"

Haha, quite a few Arsenal supporters have e-mailed SSN with rather harsh words about Henry... how soon they forget. Perhaps they should be looking to the board if they want to blame somebody...

YES!
Now GET IN THERE on Etoo!
Henry screwed them so bad.
last year they would have gotten triple this price.
But can you blame him for leaving now?
Even if he stayed, they are YEARS away from competing for a trophy.

Let the fallout begin.
feckIN WANKERS!!!!!

Guillem Balaque is on SSN creaming his pants on this transfer, said henry is getting unveiled before monday. "Henry to Bartalona!!"

It might not be all that bad business for Arsenal. His entire game is based on his pace. He's 29 now (30 in a couple of months) and that pace isn't going to be there for too much longer... who knows, he might have lost a yard or two already after such an injury plagued season

I think you are partially correct. While I think his peak has probably already passed, the guy was an icon for that team. He was keeping young players like Cesc and RVP around. Why would those guys stay now? Cesc to Madrid.

Henrys agent is making no comment! That really says it all.

Henry to Barca and Wenger to Madrid (maybe)

I agree, it is going to be a lot more difficult for Arsenal to hold on to people like Fabregas. It'll probably also make it a lot more difficult for Arsenal to attract top quality players so those Arsenal fans who suggest Arsenal will pull off some kind of masterstroke signing will be disappointed, in my opinion.

Also, with Henry leaving it suggests Wenger is not happy there either (seen as there appears to have been no great effort - or indeed any effort at all - made to convince him to stay). If Wenger can't guarentee his own future to the club then who is going to want to sign for them (and who is going to want to stick around)?

Fabregas grew up with Barcelona....

And Rooney grew up a scouse Blue.

So?

Madrid have been after Cesc for the past two years. I think his excuse to stick around just headed to catalonia....

There now showing an interview that Henry did a few days ago for ESPN, hes harping on about how he loves Arsenal but the changes inthe boardroom have hurt him. How fickle football is just concentrate on your football and leave the boardroom issues to the men in the suits. they pay him to score goals not to go to AGM's ffs!

He's just using it as an excuse so that he doesn't have to admit he doesn't think Arsenal are any-where near being a Premiership Champions club anymore. Protecting the fans from his own opinion perhaps.

Only an idiot would say his 'entire' game is based on pace. He's no Bellion, and would still be world class without his speed, such is his ability.

When i say 'his entire game', I mean it is what sets him apart as a world class player. Obviously his movement etc is good but without his pace he simply wouldn't be one of the best players in the world. He'd still be a good player no doubt, but in my opinion, he wouldn't be one of the greatest players in the world, which is exactly what Barcelona will believe they are getting.

The difference with Bellion is that even with his pace, he's not even better than you.

He had nothing else to achieve at arsenal He took the team as far as it can go by himself. Now they are well and truly fooked.

I'm going through my phone book looking for all the arsenal supporters, I won't be done till about midnight !

Must be all the Gooners crying over Henry leaving.

Well good for Henry. Though i think Barcelona got him for cheap. I don't think arsenal will win any thing major next season, unless they buy a decent striker. They might go for Bent. The good thing is it looks like Eto will leave, and maybe he can be sold for cheap. Perhaps now we can afford him.

Bad move…will put an aging defense under even more pressure. Who is going to track back on defense? Ronaldinho, Messi, Eto’o…ha!!

Looks good on paper but the likes of Sevilla and Valencia must like their chances even more now…

Ive just seen this news! What a shocker for the Arsenal. Their talisman and best player is on his way out. I wonder how the team will cope next season and if Henry's departure will lead to other players going. Arsenal are currently heading for a struggle to stay in the top 4.

Although it's almost "certain", it's still not definate is it?

Everyone keeps saying it's a done deal and linking to a "almost a done deal" page.

Still yet to hear anything official so it's still bollocks at this stage.

As for Wenger...

He's off and Eriksson is hanging out for the arse job.

Tomorrow could be a great day ;)

About an hour before this was announced...I told some Arsenal fan I know he'd joined Barca for £20 million.

It was funny when he realised it was true

It's a shame for English football and Arsenal fans since I honestly think that when he's on form he's the best player in the world. With a front line of Eto'o Henry, Ronaldinho and Messi i reckon any defense in the world would be shitting their pants at the thought of facing Barca next season

I'm not entirely happy. Maybe even a tad sad. He's an exceptional player probably the best the league has seen. Would be sad not to see him any longer. The rivalry between Arsenal was a good one. Two teams that know to play football the way it should be and no one epitomised that more than Henry
