It's hideous. Surely, there are better ways to incorporate those spires into the ground without the eyesore of them every game, better yet, not have them at all, they're tacky as you like. It looks like ET's flown a few thousand lightyears and bagged himself a season ticket and the cheeky fecker has parked his ship right above the pitch. It's a hideous distraction and to make it worse, they're building Manchester's answer to Disney World right outside, that nobody asked for.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no fan engagement on this, right? That same fan engagement Jim spoke of in his manifesto to buy a stake in the club. To include us in all the important decisions, and he's just gone and turned our beloved home into Disney World, in probably the one of the most decisions you can make about the club, with its very identity at stake. I'm one that embraces change, but this just feels all wrong.

This is unbelievably timely news though. I'm insanely excited. Anyone think it might even give the players a boost? Footballers are going to want to come and play in front of 100k people even without champions League footy. Maybe ticket prices come down to fill it.

Best thing I've heard in ages.

The glass is around the perimeter of the stadium to make a covered walkway / social / shopping area.
The glass isn't over the stadium.

Looks great but how have they not included a video screen inside? 100K stadium is massive so would think the field will be tiny for the fans in the nosebleeds
Watching the video there’s like a video banner that goes across the stadium, whether that’s instead of, I don’t know.

However, if United could have a variation of the screen that was in the United video showing what a concert would look like, it would be fantastic

Well, that's your opinion as a fan, right? If you go through this topic, you'll see tons of fans loving the design and what's going on in the grounds around it. Just look at the posts below yours. They can't do right for everyone.

That won’t be a problem
Will be a problem if the club on the field doesn't improve. Loads of games this season with lots of tickets available before kick off.

I hope the priority for Jim and Co is to improve the club on the pitch first and foremost before any fancy new stadium that might become a reality in 5 or 7 years time.

I'm also happy it'll make every other stadium in the league look feeble and certainly less impressive in comparison.

Asking for fan engagement in this would be like asking Homer Simpson to design a new car

Given the club's recent recored, I can't help worry that this will be delivered late and way over budget...
Based on that, we'll pay for the best stadium in the world, with all modern facilities, and end up with The Shay... which will cost twice as much, somehow.

We will see in the future how it turns out, but the fact that the seating layout is similar to Old Trafford is a huge plus for me. Even the dug out looks the same.

This won't happen

Us scoring 3 at home? Ha!

There is one massive, continuous 360 degree screen wrapping around the entirety of the top of the stadium. I'd imagine it'll be the biggest screen in the world if it ends up the same as in those videos.

This forum constantly reminds me how so much of our fanbase will find any reason at all to be negative.. I’m sure they’re all secretly happy when the rain falls through the roof.. get in! another reason to have a moan on Redcafe.
It’s like that bloke on the fast show..
“Bruno?….rubbish…..Ruben Amorim?? Ruben Amorwhat? .. rubbish!
100,000 seater state of the art stadium? .. that’s rubbish…”

Dumb post.

I wonder if our players might be able to take decent corners if they don't have the drop offs at the edge of the new pitch.

Should name the new stadium something like Sir Alex Ferguson Stadium he is why this club is what it is just like how madrid call theirs santiago bernabeu

The price of a Season Ticket and 'ordinary' individual tickets will go up. I predict, £60ish will be the cheapest ticket going forward. I think they'll aim to get number of season ticket holders slightly but not too much, maybe around 55k. They'll want to keep a high number of ST holders because that's guaranteed income in one go.

The other 40,000 or tickets will go on sale with maybe a third of those being hospitality areas.

The other thing they might do is bring in catertgory pricing for matches. A "big 6" game might become a lot higher than say, Wolves or Leicester at home. They're getting rid of the away ticket cap from next season so that's certainly possible now.

All possibilities, but we will have to see.

My feeling is that you need that guaranteed revenue that season tickets bring in. The business model with 49k season tickets has worked for a long time.

I agree though, there may be a model where members pay more on a per ticket basis than ST holders. And i dont think that is unfair.

Nor would be a staggered pricing structure where you perhaps pay less for a Europa game. Hopefully we wont be in that competition though.

Spurs are 45k season ticket holders in their 80k stadium. Im not sure the number of ST holders at WHL, but it was only a capacity of 36k.

I would expect United to up the number of season tickets because there is nothing better on the books than guaranteed income at the start of the season.

Looks like they will be building the "United Way" on the site of the current ground.

WIll be sad that the old ground will be demolished.

A whole lot of housing to be built around the stadium to. That means removing all the car parking on the Stretford End side. With a 22k capacity increase and parking already in short supply, i can see that being a huge issue.

Of course, it's my opinion. That's what a forum is for, to share your opinion, and I've had a look at what others seem to think, and it seems divided right down the middle. What is the point you're trying to make?

Maybe they'll do something similar to the Apple campus and have underground parking.

The additional revenue this will generate will mean we can blow every other club in the league out of the water in PSR terms (assuming that's still a thing).

Think about it, 20,000 extra tickets per game at an average of say 50 quid per ticket. That's an extra million £ every single home game. Then you would assume the average spend per fan on other things (food, drink etc) will go up. Let's say that goes up by £5 per fan on average, that's another £500,000 per game.

Then you add in all the other shit (NFL, rugby, boxing, concerts etc.) you realise this thing is a money printing machine.
