is it normal practice to put in a bid for a player knowing he doesn't want to go to your club, they must have asked him? Something is very dodgy here

Who gives a shit. As long as the scousers don't get Ciacedo it's a good day.

If this means Chelsea are in FFP trouble that's just a bonus...
And my delusion of seeing Caicedo at United in the future is not dead yet. We can take him from Chelsea one day, but if he goes to Liverpool it would be over forever.

Can Man Utd hijack this deal?
I don't think we should because he needs games and a stepping stone before taking a big step. It's easier to sign young high potential players for Brighton due to the lower expectations and more patience that is afforded to younger players. At big clubs you're expected to win.

Be hilarious if that was HIS thinking too.

I preferred him to Mount, but we don't need him now as unfortunate that is...if Mainoo breaks through we'll have enough midfielders for now.

Would be great to have someone that can play #6, #8 and even right back to a high level. We'd have that in Caicedo.

I feel like there are more twists in this. Chelsea still have to make a bid that brighton will accept.

Well if he goes to Chelsea expect a 8 year contract so I wouldn't bet on it.

Would love to see the contracts

No idea, but if I had to guess he probably said he was willing to join Liverpool in negotiations with no formal contract agreed, now he has seen the contract he prefers the contract being offered by Chelsea and I bet his agent is getting a better deal from them aswell.

Stabbing into the void, sir. Haha.

What a roller coaster.
If they really struggle PSG has a few midfielders that I assume could be available for the correct amounts. At least one of Soler, Sanches, Fabian or Pereira should be available.

Latest on Sky is that the player has made it clear to Brighton that he only wants Chelsea. You're not getting him.

For a club that throws money around its taking a long time for this bid to come in. It's simple math, £112m.

I reckon with his wages and us adding that extra £11m last night Chelsea are probably in serious trouble with FFP (more serious than normal). It could mean the end of any further purchases thus leaving Poch short in other areas. That £107m for Enzo looking particularly daft now.

Wow, it seems like the contract from Liverpool is not fat than Chelsea a lot.
I am interested how much salary will he get finally?

Currently what is your starting midfield?
Szoboszlai, Mac Allister and I'm guessing one of Jones/Bajcetic (or is he still injured?) or Thiago, something like that.

Have to admit I've barely followed any preseason action so it's just a guess.

This isn’t true. He’s been following Chelsea for ages. Go back to posts from last month or last year, he’s been leaving likes on random training content for a long time.

If you’re going to bid 100m+ for a player you have to close it asap, otherwise every other club knows you have the money if you don’t succeed. Lavias price is now 75m probably for Liverpool as Southampton know Scouse have been stringing them along the whole time

As Eni Aluko would say...Poch has obviously rang Klopp to tell them to put a bid in just to get Chelsea to move this along.

Nothing for Liverpool to be ashamed about. It happens in all the big transfers.

Starting on Sunday: Szob Mac Jones

Future PL games: Szob Mac with Gakpo ahead of them two. All out offensive.
