Being a faceless drone in the corporate 'project' takeover of world football must be an enticing prospect compared to joining the club of the Babes, Best, Busby, Ferguson, Cantona, Robson, Giggs etc etc.
It's just that we're no longer considered Manchester United, but rather a club in the same city as Pep's golden boys. Who cares that we've 70 years of history and are spending a bit to win titles, when Pep's holier than thou philosophy is being followed by a club that has never spent more than 600000000 a season.

He's always played on the left for Arsenal, or central - but even then he tends to the left. I guess he could play in the right, but would that be getting the best out of him?
He has definitely played on the right for Arsenal before. What's more he played there very frequently for Barcelona. He's very versatile. I don't think it matters too much where we play him, he'll be excellent regardless.

He's hardly wrong, is he? Sanchez could get himself a Premier League medal if he chose City so we must be offering stupid money for him to turn it down.
It would be a medal like the one Roy Keane and Scholes got in the CL final. City will win that title without him, they have done the hard work already, what joy is that to a player? The medal would mean nothing to him.

What an incredible turnaround.

Jose loves a smash and grab transfer doesn't he?
I think of how many times he bought players we were after at his first stint at Chelsea. Then there was Willian when he was going Liverpool.

It’s like a double whammy for the opposition, like a psychological hit that says yes we can match you head on if we want to.

God i'm buzzing for this transfer. I've always admired Sanchez and genuinely over the moon that it looks like we're getting this guy. A world class player whose been consistently one of the best players in the league in a desperately average side. He could work wonders here.
Worth reminding you that Arsenal have finished above United for the last four seasons. Not saying this to wind anyone up BTW just worth noting that whilst he has undoubtedly been an excellent player for the club he has not really improved it. United have a better squad than Arsenal but him alone does not take you guys to the next level, just IMO.

I still haven't got to grips with this yet. It feels kind of surreal. If you'd come and said at the beginning of the month that Sanchez might be playing for United before the month is over you would be called crazy. I guess it will all be wrapped up in the next couple of days.

The "I'm not racist but..." of 2018.
I'm not gay, homophobic, racist or even a member of Paw Patrol, but I'd leave Michael Carrick looking like a painter's radio.
Totally agree, guys. Can we stay on topic and all just stick to talking about the players we'd like to give a length to.
Say what you want about John Cross - my favourite is that he has the bloated face of a corpse after a month in a canal - but he is absolutely right about this, unless he isn't, in which case he can feck right off, the canal-faced cunnnnnnt.
He shaved it into his hand hair during a live broadcast. People compared him to David Blaine. Because they’re both thundering arseholes.
 you're on a roll tonight mate!

I'm of and on the phone and PC all day. My missus recognized the page and asked why am I there. I needed to explain what's happening. :D
We're watching a series now but I grab my phone every 5 minutes.
I know... Mines like what’s so important? I had to explain to her the ins and outs of a transfer - how were getting one of the best players from one of our rivals and under the noses of another rival. She hates football and knows feck all about it. It was a difficult task.
Hahahaha... Its been really funny to watch, she hasn't spoken to me in over two hours and just looks away and walks past me..

If Wenger gets Mhiki in the Sanchez deal and then gets Aubameyang, it won't be a bad piece of business at all since it will be reuniting Mhiki and Auba who could pose a possible challenge for the title along with Lacazette.

We’ve literally won three major trophies to City’s one over the last two seasons. Not sure I’m too interested in players who move to clubs simply to join the trophy parade, as opposed to wanting to do the hard yards to earn them.

Still think United being decisive and committed here makes a big difference. It was the same with Lukaku. Sanchez has already been let down by City’s dithering once. I’d be swayed by a club doing everything to sign me over one who wants me, but is more concerned by getting maximum value and is leaving me hanging.

I was set on him being a City player, it seemed so inevitable after all the talk in summer and early this month. I didn't even think of him as a transfer target, yet here we are.

Still not fully believing in it until I see official confirmation though :)

How much does this matter to a professional athlete though?

Sure, I reckon he wants to win the league, but I reckon he wants to win the league not to join a club thats already won it and pick up a medal just for being there.

I always will remember Roy Keane saying he didn't feel like he earned his Champions League medal in 1999 because he didn't play in the final despite being almost solely responsible for the team being there in the first place.

So yeah, he can go to City and win a medal but there'd always be an asterisks next to it, that might not bother him, but it also might do, we don't know, and next season we all start again from zero points.

What are the chances of Sanchez pulling an Adebayor in his celebration if he scored on Arsenal?

Think it's kind of high. He's the type of guy to do it

Arsenal for the title? Nah. Challenge for top four maybe.

I think he’s pissed off with how City have handled the whole thing with waiting until the final hours of the summer window to agree a fee with Arsenal (subsequently keeping him at the club when he wanted out) to haggling again in this window.

No doubt he would have gone to City but when this window opened and they started messing around again I think he gave the word to look elsewhere.
