Not sure if serious...
Why not? Just because Lindelof is the new addition? Tuanzebe has been promising eversince his debut under Mourinho and has barely ever put a foot wrong in whatever position he's been called in. He's been one of the most promising CB talents of his age for years, so yes I'm serious. Having watched both (prior to this pre season), Tuanzebe has a lot more potential I think.

That run was excellent and had composure after that to pick out Martial too.

Jose hasn't used him.much this pre.season though. Not sure what to make of it for the future.
Hasn't used him much? What pre season games have you been watching? Lad has looked very comfortable in every game he's played in. Such a talent.

Lindelof is a player signed to improve our first team immediately. Hence he's getting the minutes he needs to settle in. Tuanzebe is a young player being developed to have an impact in the future. Hence his need for pre-season minutes is considerably less than Lindelof's. Can't believe I have to explain this.

I dont really care about what he's signed for because as we have seen, Tuanzebe has actually put in performances that improve our defence. Everytime he plays he has been one of our standouts so if it was up to me and Lindelof shows not to be better than him (in matches and training, Lindelof gets behind in the pecking order and needs to work his way up). Good enough is old enough. The guy is 19, not some kid, if he's good enough now we have no reason to hold him back from someone who might not be.

Whether Lindelof is an improvement at all is even another discussion, even prior to when he signed, I wonder if he's any better than Jones or Smalling (defensively).

His driving run from RB was our attacking highlight of the second half, I'd like to see more of him in the next two games.

Fantastic potential in Tuanzebe. Not many at the club I trust to defend 1v1s more than him. With age and maturity his already good decision making will become great. He'll be something very special at 28/29 years old.

Will be first team by December. Should be as well. Has more than the others.

Better than Lindelof.

I'm watching Tuanzebe and asking myself why we need to buy Lindelof...

I said this a lot about Lindelof and the idea of buying back Michael Keane. IMO Tuanzebe has more potential than either.

If Lindelof isn't a ready top talent then would be a pity if he impeded TUanzebe.

Tuanzebe is a special talent, and yes, i do understand why some are questioning the Lindelof purchase because of Axel, however, we have to transition the Ax Man into the first team. Pretty sure when he's ready no amount of purchased defenders will get in ahead of him.

He already looks like a proper first team player. Great physique, good on the ball and incredibily calm considering he is 19. Hopefully he gets his chances this season or otherwise is going to be loaned out. Scary prospect if he gets enough first team football over the next few years.

Thought he looked excellent today. Reads the game well, strong and fast. He's going to be very useful for us this season. Great option to have in the squad

The thing with us buying Lindelof is that the situation forced our hand. I meant with Rojo long injury & whatever happened behind the scene with Jones & Smalling, we're down to barebone at the end of season with our CB options. We might have played Axel, but it's tough situation as the pressure was immerse. Special talent is one thing, playing through tough patch of form is vital too. Rashford faced it & overcome it when playing at more forgiving position. CB is not as forgiving as put a foot wrong can mean losing a game which may mean a season objectives failed. We have Martial who arguably even a bigger X factor than Rashford couldn't shake off. Developing player is not as easy as throwing game time at them & let them swim or sink. Pick the right kind of game to bed them in is also important. I am against Pep, LVG, Martinez... approach with how they deal with young defenders. If anything they broke much more than they ever built up in developing defenders.

Ok totally gonna jinx it but I can't remember when this kid has actually played bad. His game is a nice balance of being involved but also asserting his presense too i.e playing with the ball under pressure, turning on the ball etc (instead of just offloading it like Smalling and Lindelof did in the 2nd half).

The best example of a player not playing 'bad' but having zero presence is Darmian, which means he's only half effective for a team like Utd, who should be constantly probing and being progressive.

Said it earlier in this or another thread but this kid has impressed me massively.

Couple of years ago I said in a discussion to my friend (arsenal fan) I would be very surprised if at least 3-4 players don't make it in the first team at united. This guy is going to be one of the best CB to come through from our academy in recent times.

Lindelof cost 30M. With the insane Prem prices these days, we'll be able to sell one of Jones, Smalling or Rojo for at least half of that anyways even if our best CBs end up being Bailly, Lindelof, Tuanzebe in a couple of seasons.

We can't really sell at market prices simply because we pay our players more than most clubs - Lingard @ 100k is case in point.
Therefore we need to lower our transfer price to shift the players.

Right now the Tuanzebe v Lindelof comparison doesn't look too clever for Mourinho; though it may soon change. The worst part of it is that United claim to be a club that prides itself in bringing through its own players.
