La Liga - 2015/2016

What whiney cnuts.. its a game, sport is there primarily for entertainment. No one gives a shit if 22 men kick a football around.. it is meant to be escapism and no onedoes that better than Barcelona.

If only United were capable of such disrespect. Instead our club disrespects their own fanbase instead.

At least we now know your life is shite, mate. Get a GIF of it and keep on escaping.

This "running up the score" -thing is sickening in football.. 'no fecking class

They have a duty to keep trying for the entire 90 mins your boring old fart. It isn't disrespectful at all unless it was against a bunch of amateurs.

That's not really true. Van Gaal is the master of escapism, has millions of people willing to escape the ordeal of watching us play.

Some guy on Dutch TV said these big scorelines are unnecessarily humiliating for smaller teams. Feck that, it's just football, let the fans be entertained, they pay shitloads of money for it.
Apparently all the Rayo Vallecano players were crying when they lost 10-2 to Real Madrid a few weeks ago and their coach said there's an unspoken rule not to humiliate the other team. feck that, if you're getting beat 10-2 then maybe you should be crying and considering if you're good enough. I get that it's hard when the TV money completely goes against any team outside of the top 2 (maybe Athletico too) but that should serve as motivation to make it to a team who are on the good side of a thumping.

Yeah, all these small La Liga teams can feck off anyway as far as I'm concerned, they are utter shit when they play Real/Barca providing them with easy goals because of braindead handballs, rashy tackles and atrocious defending overall. I lost my sympathy to them a while ago.

This storyline of humiliation is so stupid.. its 11 man running around the grass kicking a ball for money

Messi's penalty should have been retaken as Suarez encroached by several yards. It also would have been funny if Celta had been given a free kick because Messi was offside when Suarez kicked it, though Messi was no longer interfering with play at that point.

I'm surprised United haven't tried that penalty and knocked it about and back to Blind.

Some poor souls in this thread I see. You are right guys, let's end the game once a team leads with 2 goals, otherwise they will get possibly humiliated. Or just keep possession, we don't want to hurt their feelings. Oh and no skills please, just sideways and back passing + crossing too.

Watch synchronized swimming instead if you don't like it.

There's nothing wrong with putting 20 goals past a team. Just don't take the piss with the penalties. It's a free shot.

Everything else Barcelona produced was sheer class.

It was in the referee's power to card Messi for the penalty if he would thought that it counted as unsporting behavior. The referee in the Arsenal game could also have given Welbeck and more players a yellow for their celebration as jumping over a fence or into the stands is generally considered unsporting. Neither did though so it ends with the ref.

Personally I think it's unsporting. The only players that would ever do it are players that are full of confidence and playing in a game that they consider to be done with. Suares took a shot from a worse angle and when the ball was moving. Goalkeeper also closed him down which made the angle even tighter. What was the gain in the penalty exactly?

How is it unsporting? He's just passing a ball. wtf

It's not in the ref's power to book Messi for that.

was that pass on the penalty even a legal move? if so then I'm surprised I'm not seeing those kinds of penalties more often.

Yes it is, the ball has to be played in a forward motion.

You don't see it often because the player taking the penalty is always in a better shooting position unless everything goes your way.

The pen was great to watch and I'll never understand this mindset of "not humiliating too much" your opponent. I mean wtf is wrong with football, as long as you win without breaking the rules everything should be fine.

With this kinda logic, you can criticize a lot of different things happening in football ("what did the player gain by dribbling when he could have past it "etc etc..).
They tried something original with a lot of risk of laughter on them if it didn't work. You say Suarez took a worse shot because of the angle but look at the distance (closer than the pen spot). I honestly think it's depressing to view football this way.

I agree.

Although, aside from that, it's just fecking stupid. Take the penalty. If you want your mate to get his third, let him take the fecking penalty.

Football is entertainment and they found the best solution to do it while giving Suarez a hat trick. What's not to love there ?

Just passing the ball? Why don't you see this more often then?

Have you ever seen a goalkeeper attempt a byiclce kick? Does that mean the ref should yellow card him if he tries it?

The moment you make ref interfere and judge which footballing techniques one can use, you are assassinating the game... Your post is so ludicrous im speechless

It's not original, it was first done about 60 years ago and against Iceland no less. The reason it isn't done much is because you're setting yourself up for a worse chance unless everything goes perfectly. Like I said, he was a tiny bit closer but had to take a shot from a tighter angle.

Suarez entered the box before Messi took the penalty and so the penalty was illegal. What you do in that case is award the defending team an indirect free kick from the penalty spot. There's a reason why the ball has to move forward, why the kicker can't stop in his run-up and why he can't fake taking the penalty.

I'm not saying it's illegal and I'm not advocating that it should be. I just think given what rules are in place and how referee's can enforce them it wouldn't surprise me to see a ref make an unsporting behavior call on this kind of penalty. As a manager I'd probably be annoyed with this kind of penalty.

Suarez getting a hat trick, that's not something to love.

Neymar is fecking magic, I found it hilarious when people (mostly Brits) were saying hes not as good as Bale. Hes the heir to Messi and Ronaldo, will be the first player to break the Ballon d'or monopoly if he stays healthy.

What I'm saying is that that's what's been done. A few years ago every Brazilian was stuttering in his run-up and faking shots so FIFA made that kind of penalty illegal.

The referee absolutely has the power to judge what's unsporting and what's not. If a referee were in a mood he could decide to card every player that says "feck off" every time he blows the whistle (and that happens every time in England).

As for the goalkeeper attempting a bicycle kick...what?

No. It is not illegal to do that, so your point on yellow cards doesn't make sense.

Stuttering to the penalty is only a yellow card after it was made illegal. No one yellow carded players before that.

Your point is?

Maybe that's what LVG is doing, he's not winning too much to not humiliate his opponents. To think that he gets so much stick on here for being such a good guy at heart.

Only just saw the penalty. We would creaming ourselves if our players did that. It was amazing. Pointless, but amazing.

Ah come on, it was done 60 years ago . I'm sure you understood that I meant (by "originial") that it wasn't something often seen on any football pitch (amateurs included). What did you think of Neymar's flick over the defender ? Too much ?

Snow's entitled of his opinion. This doesn't make it sound though. Barcelona are a joy to watch.
