Gamertag is fine. You lose any achievements that you get on the (newly) banned console since it's ban if you try to get them uploaded by using a different console etc.

You don't even lose your achievements. All it means is that you can't recover you gamertag onto the banned Xbox.

As long as you don't need to run Linux or PS2 games, then yes. Smaller, lighter, produce less heat, less noise, use less power.

120GB or 250GB? It's up to you for what you think that you need and the prices that you can find. You can always swap the HDD out later in any case.

I didn't have the 2nd xbox until the 1st xbox was banned.
I got a good deal on the new one, Xbox360 elite with COD MW2 & Forza3 for £200.

It was Gamestation but Game were doing a similar deal with Fifa 10 and COD MW2. Not sure if it was a store only deal or whether it's now available online.

You can play games without the HDD, yeah.

£50 without HDD, with all the wires. Minus the controller ( i could throw in my controller, but it is seriously battered)

£100 with the 120GB HDD
