Woodward set to stay on as Executive Vice Chairman

Match going fans need to start the abusive chants again (within reason of course). Banners etc…
It is actually disgraceful for him to be continuing in a prominent role at the club.

FFS

I think the stadium needs to be invaded again for them to realise we want him to feck off.
Yeah I'm hoping this fuels new protests. The glazers need to insulate themselves from running the club.

You are spot on I think. The real problem is the owners. These guys are just the daily face.

Having said that hope springs eternal, that somehow Richard Arnold would be different.
Not really sure how much they get involved. Do they (owners) make manager appointments and sign players?

Great, just great. We can't move on from Woody. He has such a wonderful spell in this club.

The noodle and tyre partners seem to have dried up in the last couple years as well
Yep, he leveraged off the back of a successful team and brand. Due to his shit appointments and generally cluelessness, the success have dried up and we'll be feeling the pinch commercially - eventually, because success on the pitch leads to success off it. We're still one of the biggest clubs in the world, of course. That won't change anytime soon, but what he did (without knowing intricate details in fairness) wasn't too amazing when you think of the size of the brand/club at that point in time.

Glazers making a mint load with Ed, why risk losing a penny, when you can waste millions and still come out on top.

If he makes it to 20 years, are we naming a stand after him?

Oh for feck sake....

Why on earth did he think that was a good idea? Are his replacements incapable of bringing in a new manager without him, and if so - why the hell are they the ones replacing him.

We're such a joke...

We'll soon find the experienced "coach" the board was proposing to join Ole's team was Ed.

At this point we could hear tomorrow that Ed is the interim manager

Yay, its just like when Fergie u-turned on retirement back in 2002

Someone please chase the man-baby looking cretin out of Manchester please. A genuine specialist in failure.

4 failed managerial appointments with no trophies in 4 years (and counting). An absolute disaster of the highest order and the worst club member in its history. I'd be surprised if he isn't considered the worst CEO in top flight football.

Its like spending a decade fighting off a debilitating and agonising illness, getting the all clear, and then the doctor says, "but you do have this instead, and Its killing you"

It’s only right. Rival fans haven’t had anything new to laugh at for a couple of hours.

who knows really? Would you be surprised if it turns out Joel Glazer picks managers and certain players? Or does he just gets a final say on 2 or 3 options? In any case neither the owners nor Woodward really know football as well as you'd want. And for that United are fecked.

I understand that he is the Glazers' best buddy, who facilitated their takeover of the club, but surely there must come some point in time, some limit, where enough is enough even for them? what kind of 'businessmen' are they? incompetent bunch of cnuts.

I think I’d love to see it - It would be an incredible soap opera.

He's made them millions, sucking the lifeblood out of this club. So as far as they're concerned, he's done a cracking job for them. From a footballing perspective he's been an absolute disaster, but since when do the Glazers care about the footballing side. Hopefully they along with their human gimp doll Woodward feck off once they've decided they've milked the club as far as they can.

I agree with you, but surely they must understand that you can't separate the financial from the footballing perspective?
he has directly cost the club and by association the Glazers millions and millions of pounds with his incompetence.

I can see how it went down already

"I'm not fecking leaving!!!"

Someone posted a skit in one of the other threads that roughly sketches out how it likely went down.

Match going fans need to start the abusive chants again (within reason of course). Banners etc…

Kind of loathe to post this again as technically he's a human being, (first time I posted it I waited eight years) but people with his personality type and position take disparaging attacks very well - water off a duck's back. They 'take the high road' and dismiss the attacks as coming from "stupid unwashed masses" and crucially they have often built up a support structure that aids immensely with this a-la: "Oh, don't listen to a word they say; you're a doctor/lawyer and they're just mindless knuckle-draggers. Lollol you cretins don't you know __________ has a PhD, and what are you, a plumber?"

Being made fun of in less-vicious ways, basically in teasing, witty ways, is what gets to them.

Hence back then the proposal for the caf to make a thread where people posted funny songs/chants/limericks about him.

Redcafe/matchgoing fans who can get songs out there, do what you will with that information.

The club yes, the Glazers no, they'll still be collecting their dividends, and pocketing something nice every time our Ed shores up another noodle sponsorship.

That's the only positive I can salvage from all this - I'm hoping the Glazers' disregard for the long-term outlook of the club means that they'd be looking to sell at some point sooner rather than later.

At least if he was named manager, there would be a chance of him losing his job at some stage in the next 3 or 4 years.
