Why the heck #OLEOUT is trending again?

Plastics every one of you.

Loyalty is a great virtue but so is intelligence. An intelligent analysis would suggest that Ole was not appointed to win the Premier League but to run a happy ship keeping us in the top four. So calling for Ole out is dumb. He was put there by the Glazers for a reason. Glazersout is what should be trending.

We have to win the CL or Premier League this season or Ole needs to go. Klopp won the CL in his third full year with fewer resources.

Who said that its intelligent? Theres nothing intelligent about it because intelligence would tell you that there is a clear team being built, slowly but thats the owners not the manager. Intelligence doesnt shout ole out after a draw. Intelligence sees theres clear and evident progress. If you cannot see that then you arent intelligent or most likely just agenda driven.,

Quite simply I am Ole out for three reasons

His treatment of Donny
Not buying a CDM last summer
Appointing inexperienced coaches

The last one is the biggest because there is no evidence of him wanting to do anything about it at all and that is terrifying

Playing Donny doesn't help anything, and defence was not our problem yesterday it was not having a midfielder who can run our game.

Is Donny Van De Beek your cousin or something? I am yet to see VDB produce one fantastic display when given the chance. Not one. Many reasons there may be but it won’t be the first time a Dutch star came to the league only to fail. Even superstars from other leagues have failed here. United are a fan base full of overreactors.

I'm not saying he's the answer but why on earth didn't we just keep that £35m then

LOOK it's not an overreaction when I have made it quite clear about his coaching shortcomings since 2019

He literally played well a matter of weeks ago against Everton. First half he played with Matic and we moved the ball quickly. Second half he was removed and we looked like last season

fecking state of some posters on here. I swear we have such a toxic online fan base.

Blows my mind the antics of some folk.

Don't get me wrong poor result yesterday, but Jesus when did everyone turn into moany fannies

Nice one for bringing that up to illustrate my point that he shouldn't be just cast aside

We have seen him do well in preseason and the end of last. You have yet to see anything because he has not really been given a chance, minutes here and there is not a chance. If matic can be thrown in to provide that same kind of performance over and over, Donny can get a chance.

He's a midfielder, he needs to play to get in groove with the team. We had no midfield presence yesterday, because Fred is not comfortable with the ball and matic legs are gone, Donny solves both of those issues. Can he provide screening to the defence? probably not, but neither did the personnel we persisted with.

I don't know if he is the player we need, but I've seen enough of the others to think he warrants an actual chance to nail down a place. If he fails so be it, all the others have, at least they had the chance to fail constantly.

Our midfield were diabolical yesterday, and a guy recovering from covid was brought on instead

Some people just want to bury their head in the sand on this one and I include cowardly Utd journos in that

Your third paragraph sums it up perfectly and needs pinning up somewhere

Sancho played twice and didn't do anything notable either. Should he be ignored for the rest of the season and rot on the bench while inferior players like Lingard and James play 30 games a season?

Like what exactly? We haven't got the money to fix the midfield apparently so it's a case of making do for now
Bloody hell, we have enough to beat Southampton. Pogba was our most bright forward, then gets put in the pivot trying to win the game

Swap out Southampton for Palace, Burnley, Sheff United etc and then realise we've also dropped points to them over the seasons, even worse than them in fact. The beauty of football is despite having enough to beat 'Southampton', they can still put a shift in and get a result against you. United haven't got a divine right to win all their games

It's the basic issues that he can't see. This is a premier football club. It's not as if he has major injuries and can't put out a decent side.
Surely he can get Matic not to drop into the defense and get Fred isolated?
When McFred play Lindelof and Maguire are good enough to pass. When Matic plays they are not good enough?
When we need to move and pass DVB is better than anyone else in midfield yet he doesn't get to play?
It wasn't as if Soton came and shut up shop and defended for their lives. We didn't need Matic to be a third central defender.

They are the biggest problem in my eyes and don't care how much stick I take for saying it, something these fans might also want to think about is his dreadful coaching could end up losing us the likes of Pogba & Bruno and future targets as well
It's nowhere near that bad. Behave.

Thats why we dont get near league titles anymore. People are not up in arms about a draw, its how we play and game management.

The options from the bench are mostly woeful, not game changes or not integrated into the team yet. We've lost these games before and still won league titles, in a normal PL season you don't need 100 points to win the league.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have beat Southampton, because we should, but we had enough on the field to do the job without the need of having to hope subs could do something. We gave them a goal and were mostly toothless up front.

It's only the second game of the season but the players have ask themselves some serious questions.

I picked Sancho to start also put Varane in as well. I didn't go with Martial, we new Cavani wasnt going to play. This game needed a Cavani, type of CF to get a result, saying that before they scored, Utd should have been at least 1 up. Let's see where we are after 10 league games.

The ante is definitely higher than when we won the league last. Back then high 80s was usually enough, but in four of the last five seasons the winning tally was 93, 98, 99 and 100 points. Last year was impossible to judge accurately given the weirdness of covid, I’m not sure that’s a new normal.

This season we have to assume 90 to 95 points is the target to win, it could even be higher. So the days of starting the season with two draws and a defeat and pulling it round, like we did in 07-08, are probably gone. We may need to drop no more than 20 points all season, including in all our head to heads with the other big clubs. So dropping two yesterday was significant.

Forever battle of the kneejerkers. Every time we drop points it’s the end of the world. Every time we win any criticism ever is completely null and void.

They’re both two sides of the same coin

Equally as bad as the fans that act like spoilt children at the mere sight of criticism towards Ole. If anyone is abusing him etc, yeah they're best ignored. But the fans that can't handle criticism towards him and resort to calling people "plastic cnuts", "lacking intelligence", "glory hunters" etc, are equally as toxic.

I think it's fair to give Ole a bit of shit for the game, but it's worth remembering that the 11 he put out there did have enough chances to win the game. Pogba, Greenwood and Martial all missed sitters (at this level) with their head. There was other opportunities too.

So yeh, I was annoyed when I saw Matic and Martial starting but in my opinion this game was lost by the players rather than the manager. Its a shame too, because it's a massive opportunity lost given Southampton are fecking dreadful.

I don't disagree with you. Except I'm not convinced investment levels are high enough to put us on a par with City. We don't yet have that critical mass of quality, especially in defensive midfield.

A part of that is the quality of the coach. But that's a symptom, not a cause.

YES! If meritocracy is still a thing at Manchester United, then Fred and Matic should have been given the boot to the back of the bus at the very least a long time ago.

The problem is that City and Liverpool have raised the bar a lot higher in the last few years with those insane finishes to a season (from 98 to 100 points), whether we like it or not.

Yeah because he pissed it up the wall on a £35m player he isn't using and you could argue on Amad as well, however he's a young prospect so am prepared to give him a pass on that one but don't sign them and we could have afforded both DM & CM

Yeah I am glad someone has highlighted the fact that consistency levels of the other teams has gone up since that time

Players are going to miss sitters but the biggest mistake is what Matic was doing. I have no issues with starting him. But letting him drop into the defense line all the time and letting Fred get over run is criminal.
This is where we lost the midfield. That's why we couldn't get Bruno and Pogba into the game in areas where we want them to have the ball most of the time.

They were moaning fannies when Fergie was here. It just went into overdrive once he left.

True, but everything mirco blown up, even a draw now, undefeated over a year away, you think Ole was in Jose territory before He got the sack.

Never seems to be a middle ground just usual folk straight in crying like we in absolute dire straights............

Don't get me wrong I think he got the team selection wrong on Sunday, but holy moly, massive overreaction.

Good whack of our fans sound like rival fans at the moment, they don't sound too far off what some of my mates be messaging me after a result, where we drop points, it says it all

Wouldn't feel so annoyed at him if he had appointed experienced coaches, bought a DM and give Donny a proper go, however unfortunately these are issues that rear their ugly head whether we win, lose or draw
