Why not make Varane captain?

Maybe it's too hard mid-season. Ralf could maybe do it, especially with Harry needing a 'break'. Tell him to take over and help turn this show around. I don't see who else would work?
 
would rather we just strip harry of it and not name one until next season
 
Err, maybe the question is why should we make him captain? He's been here about 5 minutes and by all accounts he is a fairly reserved lad who probably took a while to settle in, particularly as he keeps picking up knocks. What does he need the captaincy for? He needs to focus on performances and staying on the pitch not being bogged down by speeches and maintaining morale.

We'll have a new manager in the summer and that's the natural time to reassess the rather overrated quality of being captain.

Good points, but who deserves it? Look at his career vs everyone besides Ronaldo. Learn from him
