anyone know much about uploading torrents??

here´s my question, i keep uploading torrents to a music site i use (whatcd), i can upload the torrents fine, but as soon as one person finishes downloading my torrent it pretty much stops sharing right there. i think the person who downloaded it can then continue sharing but why cant i??

is this normal? cos i´m trying to improve my ratio and i thought by uploading i´d be able to change it pretty quick

Did you check that you set your ratio for that particular torrent to >100%?

Some clients defaults it so that once you have uploaded 100% ratio, i.e. the whole file, it will stop seeding.

What upload speeds are you getting? Its possible that the person who is first downloading it off you has better up speeds so anyoneway leeching after that is downloading from mostly him.

cheers.......will try this

i´m using utorrent, any chance you can tell me how to do this??

utorrent is pretty easy. Right-click on the torrent you are seeding and click Properties. There'll be a section "Seed while".

sorry for being really fecking dumb, but what should i change the "seed while" to??

i´ve found the seed while bit, i´m just not sure what to change it to

it says.........

ratio is <= 150% or seeding time is<= 0mins

Yep, there's your problem. Basically you are seeding one and a half file and then you stop.

I generally don't bother with seeding time. If you just want to improve your upload, just up the ratio to 1000000% or whatever and just stop it once you think you have enough "upload"
