Edwards endorsement has brought the union support for Obama...thats about the best he could do for him...he wont add much as a VP....

Didn't hear the speech and don't really care. All this talk about a speech unifying the party is laughable. As if she came out and said I hate Obama the DEMS wouldn't vote for him. In their eys this race is a Dem vs Satan. The real campaign starts now and its easy to see what the strategy will be. McCain will point out Obamas lack of experience and desire to raise taxes and Obama will call McCain Bush Jr. It'll depend on what people WANT to believe.
What has she got to lose? She wants to be President and if Obama wins in fall, her chance is gone forever.

It's a remnant of the concept of the one-drop rule, in that white is pure, everything else is impure and a combination of the two will still give you impurity. I'm not for a moment calling Raoul a racist, but (particularly) American culture has been built on that idea for centuries and they're finding it difficult to shake, even with the best of intentions.
