That's true - but I thought they do it through agents. Calling the player seems to be on another level. Not that I mind to be honest, would much rather he go Chelsea, where he'd improve them a little, than go to Arsenal, where he would improve them a lot. I don't agree with tapping up if I'm honest - I know all clubs do it, even United; but you'd think the common courtesy is to have a bid accepted first. I would hate it if other clubs do it to our players.
Yeah you're right, it's usually through agents. That way the club can say that they've had no contact with the player. Clubs contact the player first to determine whether they are open to a move before a formal bid is placed. That way the club avoids looking stupid when they place a bid and the player comes out saying they have no intention of moving to said club.

20 mill on a 29 year old? Why? Surely they should be looking at the future, rather than a quick fix at LB

Just shows how good Mourinho's record is. The other 3 are all in their 60s and Mourinho is either top or joint top in those categories.

To be honest you need to take into account the teams being managed. Plus LVG was also managing Holland.

He's not one over reliant on pace and he's just come off the back of the best season he's had, he's got a few years in him at least.

Interesting that Liverpool dont fancy Bojan.. Surely a better option than Jay Rodriguez or Rickie Lambert!

My mate is an Ajax fan and he said Bojan was shit last year. I think they had an option to buy him at the end of the loan as well.

Mourinho always buys players in their prime rather then worrying about the future. Eto'o, Milito and Drogba all prime examples of this.

Wow! His reputation has really taken a tumble. Played way too much too early, never really kicked on

That would be a bit childish though. Clubs miss out on players all the time.
Well, he seemed very unhappy at Juve's inability to sign anyone so far.. He felt they were far too weak to get far in the Champions League with the current squad

More BS.. How do you justify rejecting Inter Milan and picking Hull City for Footballing reasons?

Apparently planning to join City's new New York team in the MLS..

Which could mean a January loan for him at City. Even though it's city I'd love to see him even for 5 games in the EPL

Lot of debate over Bebe on twitter atm.. I'd have liked to have given him a chance in pre-season at the very least. He's coming off a very good season, and looked much more effective than our present collection of wingers albeit in the Portuguese League, but still

Assurances on first team football is probably the only thing. It would be a bad move if he went to Inter and just sat on the bench.

Definitely need to throw in a sell on clause. I can see him scoring 20+ goals for them next season.

They wouldn't have signed him to sit on the bench, part of it comes down to English players being too scared to take a chance and move abroad.. It'd help them become better footballers if they can excel in a foreign league!
