I would think Conte's resignation would strengthen Juve's position on Vidal, not weaken it. They won't want an exodus on their hands nor risk the wrath of their supporters if they lose both their manager and best player over the same issue.

I would think they'll do everything they can to keep him rather than make it easier for us to sign him.
The reason he probably quit is because they're willing to sell. He did say himself apparently that he'd resign if they sold Vidal or pogba against his will, and this is probably him keeping his word.

So why do people think Conte going is only because of us signing Vidal? If that is not the case and we haven't agreed anything yet, a manager change is surely not good for our chase is it?

He's always been quite outspoken about Juve's transfer policy and there was reports saying that he'll quit if any of his big players were sold.

If it's true Conte had no say on players leaving if someone offers the right money then the next guy surely won't. I'm not sure that's the case I think Conte left because the club said they can afford top players without needing to sell but now they've missed out on Sanchez and Iturbe who's close to joining Roma because they don't have the cash.

Randomly woke up at 5am...check the twitter thread...no news...back to sleep then.

There is a clinical name for it: SHITS.

Sleep Hinderance Induced by Transfer Season. I, too, am a sufferer.

Anyone else noticing a pattern? Ozil, Sanchez, Khedira to Arsenal, Cesc, Costa to Chelsea. Yeah we've signed Mata, but that was from a domestic opponent, where's the european attractions?

Most of our buys come from the premier league, we usually buy prospects from Europe. We're the Bayern of England, and it's served us well over the past 25 years.

And it used to serve Bayern well too - not anymore. If they hadnt gone for Martinez, Robben, Ribery they wouldnt be where they are now.

And 'Max Allegri the first goal for Juventus for the succession to Antonio Conte. In the morning there is a meeting between the leaders Juventus in Turin and the former coach of AC Milan. A few problems to solve. Any problems are not of an economic nature (Allegri earn much less than the Count, who had a flat on the proposal for renewal by 5 million per year) nor market operations. If anything, the only question is related to the relationship with Pirlo, who had given up Allegri facilitating his arrival in Turin three years ago on a free transfer. But it is to believe that the technician Tuscan has repented of the transaction and is willing to mend the relationship with the champion of Brescia. The agreement thus seems a step away and the presentation may already be fixed in the evening.

THE ALTERNATIVES - Everything suggests that it will be their new coach Allegri. But if the deal were to jump, what are the possible alternatives? Two names more credible, Sinisa Mihajlovic and Roberto Mancini. We start from the first: in the days following the conquest of the third title in three years, uncertainty about the future of Antonio Conte had led to choose just the Serbs in the case of goodbye. The deal that was more advanced, so much so that the technician had placed with the leaders Juventus Agnelli and the basis for an agreement remained on paper only after the announcement that Conte would leave. At the time he was free and was available even Allegri Mancini. Yet Juve had chosen Sinisa. Today the situation has changed, Miha is bound by a two-year contract signed with but Garrone, who then left to Ferrero. If Juve it would evoke would not say no, but you have to convince Samp. And the clock is ticking. Another option that related to Roberto Mancini, after the free end of the experience with Galatasaray. The Mancinelli has also been linked to the National, but his financial claims may be an obstacle. In short, all the evidence points to Allegri: Today's meeting will determine whether he will be the new Juventus coach.

This does seem to be a major event, surely it has something to do with Vidal as well, it's not certain, but timing is uncanny, unless it's to do with Pogba to Chelsea which seems to fast gathering legs?
