So let's see...

Since the world cup ended:

Tweets that we've approached Vidal.

That we've asked for medical records on his knee.

His knee is cleared and he's good to go.

That he knows of our interest and would join us.

The clubs have agreed a fee and he will join.

Then (supposedly when asked) we've said "No bid" (learning from Cesc deal last year), so the deal is off.

Suddenly Conte quits, which seems to add weight to the initial belief that Vidal is signing, and United were feeding press shite.

All the while the usual United press crew have kept quiet while the ABUs feed off the negative press we've leaked out.

Now its just a waiting game until Vidal gets back from holiday.

I'm confident of signing him, looking at it logically.

It is worth noting that Pedullà doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to Manchester United transfers. Back in January, the Italian journalist wrote that David Moyes was, at the time, interested in Hellas Verona's Italian striker Jorginho. He also wrote back in June that Manchester United were very interested in Fredy Guarin. So far, neither of those two transfers have happened.

Jorginho's a midfielder, but yeah, Pedulla's pretty shit either way. Wouldn't take his word on much.

edit: Didn't realise it was from that article, my bad!

Jorginho is a central midfielder?

Good run-down.

To be fair, I think you're providing too much weight to the positive and not enough to the negative.

AS Roma Practically close Iturbe for near to 30 million euros.

From where are they getting this money ?

Don't forget that Vidal has not publicly ruled out a move either, despite being asked about it. And in fact what he said in his interview implies he is very open to it! This is so fecking on. I'm buying my Vidal shirt tomorrow.

I'm not sure, but with Iturbe I'm certain he's asking for very little in wages, which is why Juventus were also willing to splurge on him.

People asking me if I think a deal will happen. I know nothing that you don’t. Looking at everything, it seems something is happening.

I'd agree with that. The game changer was Conte leaving. It just seems to fit that the last thing to piss him off would be Vidal (or someone) leaving and the club not doing much to fix the problem.

Confirmation bias at its best mind you...

Please don't ruin this for me.

Vidal's rumoured wages work out to be about £150k per week, I'm getting good at this sort of thing, didn't I say that earlier? ;)

Indeed, I can't help but see it that way too, but I think if you're going to include things like 'asked to see his medical records' you at least need to mention that our interest has been denied by basically everyone in the country.

The speed at which all this has happened might be suggestive, I reckon - if that tweet turns out to be accurate, I'd expect us to announce Vidal's signing by Thursday at the latest.

Don't get me wrong, Ben Davies is a very good young player, but he'll likely cost them more than Moreno. Huw Jenkins seems to be attempting to become Daniel Levy v2.

I heard they were asking around about £12million from Spurs, so well under what Sevilla are demanding. Although, that's just rumours at this point.

Roma are on the up, American owners. Looking to build a new stadium, excellent recent transfer record, just back into the CL and will push Juve hard for Serie A again this season. I imagine they still have lots of money left over from last season selling Lamela (35m), Marquinhos (30m?) and Bradley (around 6m i think) and bringing in players for a lot less (Gervinho, Benatia & Naingollan). With extra CL revenue, they've money to burn. 30m for Iturbe is still a massive deal for them, but they're not in serious financial trouble like most Italian clubs.

Those wages apparently are what he wants after tax. It'll be a lot more the way wages are reported in England.

So if this Nani to Milan move happens then I would assume we will look for a winger?
