Just finished watching the 1st series...

woo yay iits good!

best thing ive seen in a while actually (well since the shield and the wire finished)...

dunno how the filthy download got on my computer and now its somehow downloading the 2nd series in HD...

You have to give the yanks credit where its due... they do make some good dramas
 
I quite enjoyed the 1st season although all the black characters are very annoying in the show they drive me nuts, look forward to watching the second series does anyone know when it will be shown in the uk?

I'll complain!

This show is quality and I wouldn't have any problems forking out another $50 for when it comes out here in Australia later on.

The problem with it was they finished the season storyline of too quickly in the episode and the season cliff hanger wasn't really worthy of a finale.
 
Anyway, next year is supposedly the season of the Were's.

Indeed

They should of made the Godric story the main focus of the season and that Maryann part as the secondary story. Godric was such a cool character, definitely my favourite on the show so far.
 
I enjoyed the first season and I probably wouldn't have watched it if it hadn't been mentioned on this forum. Does anybody know when season two will air on FX in the UK?

I thought the Godric storyline was a bit crap at the end. It made no sense for him to do what he did. The best part of both storylines was Jasons involvement in both.

Book spoiler here

In the book I hear he was actually a real bad person like a pedophile and used to rape and kill children but you are right they probably should of elaborated more on why he felt he needed to kill himself. Hence why I thought it should of been the main story so they could of focussed more on why he he wanted to meet the sun and why he had so much guilt for what he has done.

I reckon they were just looking for a way to quickly get rid of him as he would have been able to deal with the Maennead quite easily.

Think it would of been more cooler if he had been the one to tell them how to deal with it. Though they would of been straying away from the books by doing that but they have done lots of that anyway. That Godric part was what really had me gripped, thought the season lost a lot of the momentum it had built up once he died.

He wouldn't of come himself to deal with it otherwise Maryann would of suspected something as they had to trick her into wanting to give her life away.

Early next year from a quick google, I'd recommend you wait rather than being a cnut and downloading it, I would lose a lot of respect for you if you did that.

Jazz, please indicate what your spoiler is about, when you you no longer talk about what has been shown on TV, I don't want to suddenly read about the books.

Yeah I agree, I was disappointed with how it ended, Everyone, including myself would've loved to see just how powerful Godric was, when he said "I could have killed every person here if I wanted to", I was just like, DO, IT DAMMIT! It was a bit of an anti climax when he killed himself, but I think the point was that after 2,000 years he just couldn't cope anymore, he said himself "I no longer think like a vampire", as in, he no longer has any wanting to be one.

Godrics part wasn't that big in the book either. He was fed-up being a vampire. The plot was more to introduce the fellowship of the Sun church. BTW Jason being in the Church was not in the books at all.

The maeynad (or however its spelt) spent more time in the woods attacking people than anything. The MaryAnn character got too much airtime and was frankly annoying. Spoilt the series for me.

Next Season - MAJOR SPOILER
Will focus on rescuing Bill, Sookie killing the Queen & introduce the Ware packs

Yeah but this season was Jasons as far as i'm concerned, thank god they did include him in it.

I liked the idea of her and what she represenrted but it would have been far better if Dionysis or Bacchus had actually turned up

actually that happens in the book which falls after next seasons book. Im interested to see who they cast for that because the fairy is supposed to be so beautiful that everyone is in awe of her, and vampires get giddy around her because fairy blood is so sweet

In the books did they have any particular abilities or were they just vamp chocolate

But it was never shown? I wondered if they were like the Fairies in Hellboy2, more elven and immensely powerful.

Jason has no problem at all and he's Australian.

In fairness, Bills character is a bit dull in itself, but any attempts at humour from Stephen Moyer just fail miserably. Contrast that to Eric who is just brilliant.
