Its HBO and its vampires so that would instantly make it awesome... but has anyone actually seen it and can tell me if its a series worth putting some coin behind?

True Blood season 1 was fantastic

season 2 starts in June

it was so good in fact that i went and read 4 of the authors books so far.

You rate it that highly eh GB?

I gotta say I enjoyed it, definitely worth a go, it doesn't shy away from sex and violence in true HBO fashion. Cool characters, good humour and solid writing.

And also.. towards the end of the series you see Anna Paquins breasts, and I tell ya no amount of build up ruins it, they are scrumptous.

Thought season one was pretty good. Adds some nice twists on the vampire legend. Another quality HBO series.

It grew on me to be honest, not one of my favorite HBO shows, but still worth watching if you own the channel as nothing but reruns are on in the summer anyway

First 2 episodes of second season have been excellent.

Sure have. Jason is hilarious as always, and it's always nice to see a bit of Anna Paquin!

I still hate that Stephen Moyer (Bill) guy though, he really is a shit actor.

Any show with Vinne from Home & Away in it has to be worth a watch.

I've not watched any of the new series yet (I'm saving them up while I finish Breaking Bad) , but the first series was excellent. Definitely the best new show last year, and the best thing on HBO since the Wire/Deadwood/Sopranos.

Yeah, I wouldn't put it in the same standard as those 3, because they're the best thing ever put on TV, but it's still great. HBO is always of a higher standad

Awesome show, with great writing and characters. It's very unique and keeps you interested.

3rd episode of season 2 airs Sunday

I watched the first 3 episodes and found myself still wondering when it was going to 'come good'. Gave up after that

Same. Still have the rest of the episodes saved somewhere mind.

Never heard of it. Is it aired in the UK or will I have to track it down on the internet?

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out, I like vampires except for that awful twiglet movie!

i hate Twiglets too

i'm in.

But if anyone happend to PM me some sort of filesharing torrent thing or whatever i'd be horrified and disgusted. Such things should be illegal!

Season one just came out here on DVD, but my birthday is soon, so I have to wait till then to get my hands on it. If the first three episodes are anything to go by, I could well enjoy this.

Season 1 is great, just picked up the first book, which inspired this series, so I'm going to enjoy reading that, and possibly the whole series of books.

I do however think that season 2 is on course to be even better than season 1, which is quite something to be honest.

It gets better as the series goes on, don't worry.

It's typical HBO really, a large portion of their shows follow the same sort of slow moving style, with everything building up and then being unravelled towards the end of the series. The Wire, Carnivale, Sopranos all did this sort of thing.

Series 2 has also started very good, a lot better than series 1 started.

I missed episode 1 but I watched and quite enjoyed episode 2 and I have activated link series so I don't miss any more.

I did think it was a little bit Twilightish with the romance thing which might get annoying.

Could anybody clear something up for me? I will spoiler it as to not ruin it for others.

The Vampires are out and seemingly accepted by society. How did this happen?

Why was Anna Paquin being beaten up at the start of the second episode?

Do we know why drinking vampire blood doesn't turn you into a vampire and why women that have seemingly been bitten don't appear to be vampires?

Are you talking about the first season? If so:

Don't know about how they're out and accepted

She stopped two people from completely draining Bill's blood so they could sell it, they took an unkind response to this.

Vampires can 'nibble' on humans without turning them. They have to take a lot of blood to turn them

I think their emergence into the general public was to do more with the development of TruBlood

Thanks guys

Ffs 6 days until the next ep. Having read the first 4 books now I pretty much know what will happen but still can't wait....

So whats up with Godric?

I wasn't to sure whether the episode was implying Eric set him free at the end or that Godric might have some sort of plan, (fake getting captured to start a war maybe?)

A week is to long to wait!

Possibly. It still hasn't been revealed how they managed to capture him. I think the way they are building up Eric's background is good and the flashbacks are interesting.
