Top 5 Actors?

Depp would be a brilliant Riddler in Batman.

my top 5, off the top of my head are:
Depp
Will Smith
Crowe
Brad Pitt
Edward Norton

Depp and Freeman are the same fecking guy in every movie.

Depp just slightly alters it by being fruity or dark.

Freeman's so fecking one dimensional. What an awful actor. Depp too. . . but I quite enjoy his over the top style.

I think they are both quite good at what they do, playing the one or two variations of the same guy, but ya they don't really have the depth the other guys mentioned here do.

I also really enjoy Depp.

Edward Scissorhands, Donnie Brasco & Jack Sparrow are hardly the same fecking guy.

Now-a-days he does play variations on camp misfit, but it's mainly a post-pirates thing. I also find him very charasmatic, as I do pitt, though he's no where near as good an actor

Duvall's been a fantastic actor over the years. Especially during the 70s and 80s.

Brilliant as Tom Hagen in the Godfather series and was it Col. Kilgore in Apocalypse now, among other films, just a great actor.

Me too, have you seen him in Lie to me? not a movie but a series, i thought he was really good in that.

As you say, very underrated.

I've not seen that. He's good in so many films, remember Rob Roy? My God he was diabolical in that, you had to hate him.

The sheer mention of Apocolypse Now makes me want to watch that movie. By god what a film.

Get stoned and watch it.

Godfather probably had the best cast ever assembled for a film. Brando the greatest, ever. . .Pacino and De Niro not far behind. . .and then Duvall who's always been underrated for my money. James Caan wasn't bad either. Oh and John Cazale - don't think he made a bad film.

I agree, what a group. No wonder they are some of the best films ever.

Dilip Kumar
Chow Yun-Fat
Leung Chiu Wai
Shah Rukh Khan
Stephen Chow

I think Tom Hagen was better than Michael over the course of the first two films, not that I expect many to agree with me. I agree that Godfather was the best cast assembled. The second part somewhat lost the charm because id didn't have as many important characters.

Get stoned and watch it.

Might do that tonight actually.

I know that wasn't said to me, but I'd have to agree - it's probably the best film ever, to be fair. It's just so fecking classy. Meh, want to watch this again now - watched it only about a week ago. I can watch it over and over again. Just like Withnail and I, which leads me onto mentioning Richard E. Grant, because - yeah.

Johnny Depp
Tom Hanks
John Travolta
Leo Dicaprio
Heath Ledger - RIP :(

Yes I know Ledger's dead but I thought he was an amazing actor and well worth his Oscar.

Daniel Day-Lewis
Leonardo DiCaprio
Christian Bale
Heath Ledger
Sean Penn
Philip Seymour-Hoffman
Brad Pitt
Javier Bardem
Edward Norton
Johnny Depp

I'd have had Norton right near the top not that long ago; his performance in American History X, bar that one scene where he tried and failed to cry convincingly, was one of the best I've ever seen. fecking brilliant. Then there's Fight Club, Primal Fear and 25th Hour, all of which he's simply excellent in. But he's been slacking for about the last 5 years now, whereas Penn (Milk), Ledger (The Dark Knight), Bardem (No Country), Pitt (Jesse James), DiCaprio (Blood Diamond) and Day-Lewis (everything he's been in), have all shone.

And that is why I prefer the first one to the sequel, although I believe I am in the minority.

Good shout on Gary Oldman, one of the most under-rated actors in the business.
