I got a pretty good deal aswell, i got £156 for i think it was 9 games? might have been 10. then got another 50 quid for rock band drums, 2 guitars and a mic. then a trade in xbox and i ended up getting the slim ps3, littlebigplanet, metal gear solid 4 and the dark knight on blu-ray (and a hdmi cable)
basically havent spent a penny.
just downloaded that Afrika theme, it looks sweet.

As far as I know, Cell is 45nm, RSX still at 65nm, everything else is basically the same.

Well, I was talking more in terms of features rather than electronics. Almost everything inside the slim has been redesigned in some form or other. Sony themselves say that it's 70% cheaper for them to make than the launch models.

You have to factor in the price when judging anything. PSN does more or less the same thing without having the burden of a subscription fee. I'll openly admit that LIVE is marginally better than PSN, its not £40 a year better though I don't think.
I use my PS3 far more often than my 360 due to my LIVE Sub expiring about 9 months ago. Why would I pay £40 more to play online when I can do it for free on my PS3.

As a few have said, XBL is better than the Sony equivalent but not £40 more i agree. Though from my experience with both consoles playing online XBL is far more stable. So sure you should factor in the £40 cost, but then the XBox is miles cheaper. Having said that though, you can get the year subscription to XBL for cheaper than £40 if you look around.
Plus the controller is better. Most games require the use of the analogue stick these days and the PS controller was designed when the D-Pad was the main thing that was used.
For what i want from my console i'm more than happy with by 360, i'm delighted with it in fact as at the moment there is no difference in terms of graphics and performance.
I agree with you in the majority apart from when you say XBOX is miles cheaper PS3. Its not miles cheaper, and out of the box PS3 is better value for money in my opinion as whole round package.
And I still prefer my DS3 controller to the Xbox one. I know I know, I'm in a minority!
