"The dressing room is just a disaster"

Always knew lingard was leaking to the press, this confirms it.

Other leakers are rashford, maguire and shaw.

I think if you're part of the problem you should keep your mouth shut. People who live in glasshouses and all that...

I'm not concerned with any player saving face regardless of circumstance. I'd much rather see us look at what's causing the problem and make moves to address it.

Anything else is pure PR - who ironically are going to be having kittens this afternoon after Scholes' comment.

I’ve never been so excited to get rid of so many players at once. Weird feeling excited on people leaving than coming in. Bring on the summer.

Why don't we suspend Lingard and anyone else leaking and just replace them with some talented youngsters? Nobody expects anything now, so why not have some peace and quiet from all the drama?

I hope ETH gets the backing to get rid of leaky players. We can't move on without any loyalty. Isn't there anything in the players' contracts to stop them from opening their mouths to ex players and press about private club matters?

Leaks don't work like what people think, it's usually players sharing news to ex-players/close people around them who end up leaking it to the media. Not a player directly sharing info to the media. Not saying Scholes is the one that leaks to the media, but Lingard sharing info to ex-players is still leaking

To be clear the leak would be Scholes not Lingard. The leakage is when an information goes from a private circle to a public circle or is shared to reach the public. Lingard sharing his opinion privately with Scholes isn't leaking anything, the leakage is when Scholes shares that private thought to the public.

Same as Liverpool in the 90s.
Much worse where we're concerned. The ex Liverpool players were deluded and always spoke like their club was/is gods gift to football.
Our lot seem either strangely hysterical in their criticisms, which are just at the present, or just outright bitter.

Our former players don’t help at all which I don’t get the rational behind it. It’s like they find joy in United being bad so people can always go back to reminisce how great the old United were back in the day?

Barely do you hear Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, City former players criticizing their club every chance they get. Even during the new manager search all you heard was how most ex players prefer Poch. It’s going to get worse now since their favorite Poch wasn’t giving the job. Every little mistake by Ten Hag will be blown out of proportion.

Precisely. Scholes will not have anybody in that dressing room now to get any insight, if you can call it that from. There are going to be big changes and I am thrilled about it.
I would just lay down consequences for players who can't keep their mouths shut to be honest. I blame the club hierarchy for not taking a firm stance with this. I don't mind losing or struggling, but I cannot stand a shit attitude and a leaky mouth. Got to be loyal.

True! But can't help but feel we will be disappointing by the number of outgoings and incoming. Rangnick knows what we have to get done and is extremely honest but thr club has to want to take such drastic measures too.

Why is everyone up in arms about this. Time the truth was out. Yeah you should keep whats going on behind the scenes private 99 percent of the time but there gets to a point when the whole place is burning down you just have to come out with it - ask Johnny Depp

Because Scholes does not like Rangnick at all for some reason. He hasn't had a good word to say about him from the start.

You're right, he's been visceral towards him from day 1, but he's kind of been proven right surely?

I mean he's had some truly horrific things to tackle and we do all enjoy Rangnick's pressers and his honest appraisals, but he has been awful as a manager.

The players need to do this behind closed doors. it's already a shit atmosphere, sort your crap away from the press etc. I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation. I doubt we could open our mouths about our workplace and colleagues and not face consequences. Should be the same for our players.

You can't ban players for sharing an opinion about the club privately to other professionals.

@JPRouve's comment explains it better.

Even if it is a family member, the player involved should be warned, if it happen again you are gone. They always say what goes on in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room. It's been going on for too long.

Given Ralf's comments after the game, I actually believe Scholes on this one. Ralf says they get on reasonably but dare not say well and McT just came out with a statement too on it.

Not looking great.

We knew something was wrong all season

Ronaldo coming in raising the standards and Ole getting fired doubling down on the players free pass at being shite really unsettled the fecking shitters.

How to waste a billion quid

Jesse Lingard is fast becoming the most dislikable player this club has ever had.

As for Scholes, he's the classic former player who has no idea why he was so good at the game, and the sooner the club cuts them all off the better.

We knew he wasn't a good manager though, he wasn't brought here to do that when they first wanted him, but has done it anyway.

Absolutely. I find it bloody out of order. How has the United corporate lot not said anything to the players about this? I'm really baffled.

I guess we both can have different versions of what leaking is then, my take is if you're revealing any information to anyone that isn't involved in the club is a form of leakage, regardless if it goes to media and made public.

Opinions or not, if Lingard had told Scholes what the line-ups are going to be before it's officially out, or decisions Ralf has made, that Ralf expects to be kept in house, that to me is a 'leak'. You have to question, if Lingard was sharing this, what else could be saying

Can’t see what either have done wrong to be honest, it’s not like they are trying to sabotage anything..

Lingard was talking to a legend of the football club he plays for, and shared a professional opinion based, presumably, on Scholes asking how things were at the club. Scholes is entirely the one in the wrong here.

Lingard is entirely within his right to talk to his peers. It’s ludicrous (or just a sign of the bias folk have against Lingard) to lay into him for this.

Also your list of “leakers” is genuinely hilarious. Unless you know something outside of naming players you just don’t like.

The thing is Scholes is like most of our ex players 'punditing' - they have the self awareness of an ant. They don't understand as they had Alex Ferguson to protect and lead them. They look at most things through their eyes and are too daft to see their 'opinions' are toxic as hell and don't help any. Casting a critical eye over the situation is separate from the shit that comes out of their mouths.

I have a suspicion that is all about to change.
I really hope so DT. It is one of my dearest wishes.

I can live with no top four finish, but I cannot abide by turning this great club into a fecking unprofessional circus. I want hard work and mouths firmly shut.

That would not be surprising one bit because of their status in England. If those clowns think they are untouchable because they are England internationals, they better be ready for a very harsh awakening because the new regime will bring the axe.

It's not an "information", it's his own opinion, he didn't share something that didn't belong to him or something that was secret, he shared his opinion to a former player, someone that he worked with and probably idolize. What you are suggesting is frankly daft and it is that people and in this case footballers shouldn't have any outlets that anything they think or say is a leak which is wrong and dangerous from a mental standpoint, people need outlets and these outlets aren't supposed to repeat and expose what they are told in confidence.

Now, I do not exclude the idea that Scholes asked Lingard if he could share it and that Lingard told him that he could. But even then Scholes should know that United fans are lunatics and that they don't like Lingard, so putting his name out there isn't a good idea.

Agree. I just want to enjoy my football again and the club not be a laughing stock.

I don't know what kind of relationship Lingard and Scholes have but if it's a close one then only Scholes is in the wrong. You don't go around repeating things that are said in confidence and also name your source.
We clearly needed a less intelligent former player than Neville to be leaked to, so we can get closer to the truth but Lingard confiding into Scholes just shows how stupid he is.

I don't know, I don't know what type of relationship they have. Unless we are in the know, the only thing dubious is Scholes sharing it.

I love the image that the term “confiding” as though there was this real heart to heart, not just a casual conversation like “how’s the mood in the dressing room?” “fecking shite to be honest mate, can’t wait for it to be over”

Scholes really is a prize berk, isn’t he?

It’s just as well the Class of 92 were good at football because the lot of them are dead from the neck up.

Right, but somehow, giving his opinion on what the dressing room is damaging.

Let's say any players next year are sharing 'opinions' on what the dressing room to ex-players outside the club is like under ETH, I personally, would be fuming if I was ETH. Especially ex-players who are pundits too.

I do agree in some way, players should be allowed to be giving their opinions on what it's like behind the scenes, don't get my wrong. But to me, anything negative that just leads to more toxicity should be kept in house, not shared. Maybe I'm old fashioned.

Tempest in a teapot. It is completely irrelevant to the big picture. We are shite show from top to bottom and the whole world knows. I think that the truth being aired in public is needed to move forward. We have a long road forward and this isn't even a bump compared to what is ahead.
