Oh sweet lord they've butchered it. Absolutely butchered it. Changed the story drastically for no apparent reason, and the acting, oh god it pains me just to remember it.
I've started watching this also, unfortunately its very poor, the whole premise of wizards first rule was that a confessor was needed to verify the truth of the book of counted shadows - but now its like just opening a present. silly
naked empire is the best book though
Agreed about Wizards First Rule and the Book. They should have started with him being a kid and memorizing it ... there's quite a bit in the middle they could have left out or pushed through quicker. I just saw the first ep yesterday, and I'll probably only continue watching it because the chick who plays Kahlan is hot.
And the only book I didn't like was Pillars of Creation. I understand the need to have it there, but I wasn't expecting that departure from the main storyline so I was a little disappointed. Faith of the Fallen is possibly my favorite; the way he converts people of the Old World and works over Nicci was awesome. I loved the Chainfire trilogy as well, I thought it polished off the series nicely.
I'm back on George R.R. Martin now. I couldn't get through his works originally as I was going back through Wheel of Time and the Sword of Truth series and it just didn't grab me like the others did.
Yeah it really is. I only lasted 4 episodes because of the bird playing Kahlan![]()
