Romantic comedies, own up!

I'm buying (obviously) that too now, and that will be my first film from the 1950's. Do you have to be a complete film buff like your good self to enjoy those movies? I have watched and enjoyed several films from the 60's..

nah, they're very accessible. I loved Amelie and all. Come to think of it - I must be gay.

The Holiday's good. Love Actually, Notting Hill, Forgetting Sarah Marshall etc... all enjoyed them.

The only thing you have to be to enjoy old movies is open-minded, the style of acting and the dialogue is different to modern cinema. I remember the first old film I watched was Arsenic and Old Lace and it just opened up a world of cinema to me.
