I know I can't be the only one here who's a sucker for a romcom.. :nervous:

I watched Definitely Maybe the other day and it's one of my favourites of recent years. I can't be the only heterosexual male on the planet who has a thing for these movies. It's almost that time of year and that can only mean one thing. Time to bring out maybe my all time favourite romcom: Love Actually.

what women want was on the iplayer a few weeks ago. quite good.

turns out the answer wasn't cock though.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall pleasantly surprised me. Anything else is a no no unless you're gay, or still trying to get into her pants.

I can't remember a single romcom I really liked (unless you count Bergman's Smiles of a Summer Night), but on the other hand I have about ten Austen adaptations on dvd.

I'm a sucker for them too, caveman.

Actually, I like Romance films in general. If you haven't seen Before Sunrise and Before Sunset then I would definitely recommend them, much better than the majority of rubbish in the genre, although they aren't romcoms in the typical sense.

Dan in Real Life is also a great watch.

Definitely Maybe was quite good in my opinion. The cast sure didn't hurt. Same with Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Can't say I've seen any other romantic comedies though.. perhaps I should try out Love Actually one of these days.

Is it bad that I like those types of movies more than my girlfriend does??

There are shitloads of great romance films, but romcoms are hard to come by nowadays, the older ones are great though -

His Girl Friday
It happened one night
Annie Hall
Roman Holiday

Probably my favourites.

Groundhog Day, if thats even considered a romantic comedy.

Love Actually is class.

I have the scene where Snape (Alan Rickman) is buying Jewellery, with Mr. Bean serving him, on my iPhone.

"It is but the work of a moment"

always loved the spencer tracy/katharine hepburn ones - pat and mike, adams rib, woman of the year

the shop around the corner
the philadelphia story

I dont know if its a romantic comedy as such but Beautiful Girls is an excellent movie.

Lost in Translation is a movie I never thought in a million years I would enjoy but I love it. I also like Broken Flowers, in fact if its a comedy with a love interest starring Bill Murray then I like it.

The Apartment.
Groundhog Day
Some Like it Hot. . .

would they be classed as romantic comedies?

I watched 500 Days of Summer yesterday.
It was good, but I would probably even like Santa Claus Conquers the Martians if it starred Zooey Deschanel.

500 Days of Summer was enjoyed by me as well, it was very well produced.
