Could Bonnie 'Prince' Billy fit the label? Ease Down The Road especially.
iTunes country section suggests Tim McGraw, Nell Bryden, Kris Kristofferson, George Strait Alison Kraus, Carrie Underwood and Jace Everett are all popular, as well as quite a few other names on the front page of the section.

Alison Krauss did an album with Robert Plant that was vaguely country. Bloody good album.
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is very good, try "I See a Darkness".
Also, "Van Lear Rose" by Loretta Lynn is supposed to be excellent. Produced by Jack White from The White Stripes.
EDIT: Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is Folk though, I don't really listen to Country much tbh.

Blake Shelton is very good, and ofcourse Brad Paisley. Most new country is crap but there are a few good ones.
