Quick question that most of you will know.

I have a few music dvds from concerts that I want to put onto cds. For example, I have 5 dvds from different U2 concerts that I want to put onto the laptop as songs.

Is this possible? I presume it is. How do I do it?

I am a computer retard by the way.

you'll need to rip the content from the dvd first, then isolate the sound, and convert it.

or you can play the dvd, passing the sound through cables out to the PC and record it live

The second option is out of the question!

Can you describe the first option in detail please? I haven't a clue.

Can I suggest that you just look for the mp3s of the DVDs in question and download them.

After all, you've already paid for them, so it's not like it's stealing.

I've used Ares before but it's pretty hard to find them. Would you recommend anyone better?

This site is basically a site that has millions of direct links to rapidshare files etc. You have to sign up, but it only takes a minute, and then you can do the full search for the concerts in question. When searching, limit the search to the music forum, rather than the standard search which searches every forum.

Alternatively type something like "U2 live croke park 2009 rapidshare" into google if that site doesn't yield any results.

Sound. One more quick question. What exactly is rapidshare? I've never used it before. Do I need to download anything for that?

Nah, it's just a huge file storage site. Generally it will only be one link, and will be a direct download.

In some cases you need winrar (a fancy version of winzip) to open the files, the download shouldn't take more than a minute if so.

I still like James' first option as I already have the dvds. It sounds pretty complicated though.

Use Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate SE. its easy and has good quality results. and converts to every format.
any torrent site will have it, its a very small download.

Ah feck. It is downloading it into an ogg file whatever that is. I cannot play it without buying some wavepad thing.
