Agreed and given their experience with Ole, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with a fair chunk of them.

Basically, it's clear our players on the whole have a shite mentality and that's starting to be exposed. Their attempts to turn the tide of the new manager and ideas are rightfully being exposed.

From the answers that we did it in parts against Palace and Burnley shows that the players were not obviously playing to instruction. We may blame formation all we want, but misplacing 5 meters passes, standing like a statue when a teammate is in possession of the ball are all on the players.
Football is a technical and attitudinal sport.Apart from the inherent technical abilities of some of our players, they lack the desire,hardworking,responsibility, team spirit and sprinting that extra yard even when you're gassed.I hope the sports psychologist can help us fix these issues.
 
He talked about conceding less goals. I wonder about chance conceding which is probably the main issue to fix to tighten up the defense eventually.

"They are at least trying", it sounds like those on-field players cannot reach on the level of RR tactic requirement like his past coached team.

Against Wolves, to me at least, it seemed like when Bruno came on, he was very conscious about keeping the ball and not going for the first thing that came into his head and try it. I actually liked that and brought us a degree of control.

What to me is more worrying is how often we can't make what should be straightforward passes for players at the top level. Can't remember who it was that had the ball close to our box and had a chance to release 2 players up on the left and was way off the mark and went out for a throw. Rashford on the break another example on the day. Our games are littered with these kinds of loose/lazy/unprofessional passing. More than decision making, it's so often just being able to execute the basics of football it seems we lack.

Erm. Have you ever heard any manager be so specific about their handling of in-game management? What do you think future questions from the press will be like?

So Ralf, do you regret not starting Rashford and playing Donny instead? Do you think it was a mistake to leave Pogba out of the squad seeing as your team lacked creativity today?

I think it was quite a good press conference actually.

I am not saying he is a great coach (who knows but the players?) , but the presser itself was good.

You speak too much sense.

As far as i am concerned the managers only fault will be not benching the players who aren't putting in a shift or aren't following instructions.

One of the most expensively assembled squad of players in the entire history of football cannot follow a way of playing that has been around for decades. It sounds like a parent trying to point out shortcomings of a child as gently as possible. Really sad that United have come to this. Whether it is Rangnick or the permanent manager to be, I hope some one gets into a position of authority and cleans things up quickly. At the moment, it is difficult to tell who the bad apples are.

This is not only an issue with a club like Manchester United. When you have a big squad, in the last two games, we had most of the players available. We had three centre-backs missing against Wolves. In general, we had most of the players available, apart from Paul Pogba and 10 few players can play, three subbed, then you have quite a number of players who don't even play or not even in the squad. Those players are unhappy about the situation, it's obvious, clear. I tend to explain to players every two or three weeks why they are not playing and that is an issue in our team and other clubs.

We have players with contracts expiring in the summer. We also have one or two more players who want to leave and are under contract. It's about the players dealing with that in a professional way, showing up in training, showing up, getting a chance to play. If this is not the case, the player, club, and agents need to discuss the situation. I cannot say to anyone else. I will address that to the players directly.

I don't interpret this as confirmation that we have a huge issue with anything from 11 to 17 (or whatever it is now) players being bad apples that need binning ASAP. Rather, it sounds like this:

* We have a certain amount of players who feel they aren't getting enough minutes, and who may want to move on. This isn't surprising at all and it's simply a question of managing these players, explaining to them precisely what their situation is and reach an agreement with them - which may very well mean moving them on. This is speculation on my part, but I'd say there's some reason to think that the previous management handled the squad poorly in this regard - making promises to individual players that they couldn't keep, which has led to these players being unsettled and having a negative mindset.

* There probably is a small number of players on our books who have not been professional about their lack of playing time/their general situation at the club.

If there was a large-scale mutiny going on - which is certainly what some fans seem to think - I doubt RR would've commented on it in this fashion. Granted, he's clearly a much more diplomatic man than - say - Mourinho, but still.
 
He is not going to say that Matic, McTominay and Fred are crap.

Agree. They want the benefits of being a United player: fat salary, social media following, massive fanbase. They don't want: a strict coach; put in hard work; adapt to a system which is good for the team, but may not let them shine as much. Enough! We must support the overhaul Ralf is trying to engineer. Don't let those who don't care for the team more than themselves win.
 
This is Klopp's earlier seasons at Liverpool all over again. Many of these players will be history in 2 years, I guarantee that.
 
It is very clear that these overpaid drama queens are rebelling about ralf pressing system, they don't want to follow instructions.

Good presser again. Fairly damning criticism there that De Gea was the only one objecting to them trying to score and the rest escorted Wolves towards the goal. Let's hope it was a reversion to previous habits and he can knock some organisation into them this week.

I want to know why they wouldn’t sign a DM this transfer window. There’s not one DM out there who isn’t better than what we have? BS. Feels like they have given up on this season already. If they want to have a go at the champions league we need a DM.
 
Does Rangnick know we can’t lose today? Maybe be he gives Ronaldo a rest and let’s Greenwood play up top?
 
I think what is obvious is, no matter what formation he selects, he has no idea what the players are going to do or perform on the pitch. We shouldn't be changing formations mid game like we are doing, but as we have seen before, formation is irrelevant, if the players selected can't be bothered on the day to even try.

I actually expect Villa to beat us the way this week has been going.
