Much better performance and giving the impression of actually being a team. Wasn’t perfect but we did look so much better and more organised than we have for a very long time.

Just got to wonder why has it taken so long and why now after a hiding. The things the team were doing in this game are things that should have been happening last season.

Great goal by Ronaldo, fantastic finish by himself and Cavani. I thought Bissaka was really good. And Varane is absolute class.

It's not so strange after all. The hardest thing in football is balance, good defensively without thumbing on your attack. Today we sat down, defended and took our chances. We didn¨t really attack much. In other games this season, he tried to be a progressive, attacking manager with plenty of attacking options but then we couldn't defend. Ole will never find the right balance. Today he made a good choice going back to basics just defend and nick a goal or two, which can happen with so many good attackers. But in the long run he will get sacked by it because we,re going to have too many expensive players on the bench and we won't play good football that way, and I'll think we'll struggle at home against say Burnley with this formation.

Excellent result. Spurs is just two levels below when Poch was managing.

Brilliant display after last week. Spurs were poor, but credit still needs to be given to the players and the coaching staff.

AWB was brilliant (that block on Son was amazing -especially as I felt it would have been called back as onside)

Varane calmed out defense a lot

I love Cavani’s effort and work rate - so happy he got the goal and he made it look at lot easier than it was.

much, much better from Fred, McTominay and Shaw as well.

lets just be happy with the win and enjoy it.

Ole doing an Ole and pulling a great performance out of his arse when he's on the brink of the sack. Spurs were absolutely shocking though so that helped.

Great, looks like we are stuck with ole for the season which means not winning anything for another season and will just have to make do with top 4 qualification again.

The luck ole gets, a must win game against an awful spurs side

Fred and McT provide it is much easier to play in a four man midfield than when there are just the two of you against 4 or 5. I thought they both were strong, Fred brilliant. I would like to see his distance run and touch map.

Doesn’t change a thing - seen this all before.
Absolutely. We are 8 points behind Chelsea which means the title has gone already Yet we're supposed to be over the moon we've beaten a piss poor Spurs. I'll change my tune if United string 6 or more wins on the bounce and get back in the title race. Until then this is the same pattern of the last 3 years and top 4 form at best.

Sancho is not working hard enough, same as Greenwood.
The big difference today was every player working hard appart from Ronaldo who is banging. We can’t afford 2 more players not running their socks off.

Sancho is the only United player in the top 20 for pressing opponents in the Premier league. And he did that despite playing fewer than 50% of minutes so far.

Doesn't work hard... ffs

Spurs looked like a side who were nervous about the potential consequences of another bad result, we played like a team that knows there's zero accountability for the manager no matter what happens, by the end we had a back 8. The highlight was the 3 finishes, moments FC in the building.

Nice to not be in panic mode whenever the other team have the ball. He’s on to something I think. Yes, Spurs are dreadful, but the chelsea-like solidity is something we can build on. I was really impressed with McT. His best (maybe only good) performance this season. Wan-Bissaka I thought was excellent too. Varane in a back 3 is not fair.

What?! Did I watch the wrong game??? I saw a Manchester United team that was defensively sound against a horrible Tottenham team impotent in attack. We created next to nothing and were given 2 goals as gifts. The Ronaldo goal is also only scored by Ronaldo, by nobody else... And you guys are giving away 6s, 7s and 8s?! For what? For at least trying? :D

Maybe I am too strict but this shocks me big time.

Much needed. It’s probably the way for us to play with the lack of creativity in midfield and Ronaldo up too but you can’t do it every week when you’re Manchester United. Not sustainable long term but nice that we looked solid.

How bad were Spurs?

Better performance. But let's not pretend this is the way forward. Fred is absolutely diabolical.

I can't believe we watched the same game. I bet he made most tackles, had most touches and ran most distance.

Spurs were awful.

Ole clearly picked a 5 at the back for the next few games to be less leaky.

Can he keep some tension in the performances or will be go back to being a soft touch at some point in the future.

Who knows.
I don't think we'll be on the end of any more humiliations if Varane stays fit, he's so good. We'll still drop plenty of points though.

Or we won three nil, gave nothing away and looked dangerous when going forward.

Your outcome probably Depends on whether you wanted us to lose the game or not I suppose.

All those fans who wanted us to lose and calling for Ole's head, should really look at themselves in Harry's mirror.

Well, with all due respect, I was 'calling for Ole's head', still am, but that doesn't mean I want UTD to lose. I understand those who might have though- it might have hastened his sacking. But I just can't bring myself to do it. Still don't think he is remotely capabale of managing the team long term, though- this is just one game, lets not forget that. But yeh, I'm celebrating a nice win and some fab goals.

If Ole plays 5 at the back it's OK. And one of the so called reasons the board don't want Conte cos he plays 5 at the back and it's not the United way.

I think it's less to do with that and more to do with his management style and abrasive communication.

Spurs are terrible. Varane makes a big difference! There were still some dodgy moments/silly mistakes that we could really do with stamping out our game.

But otherwise it was a professional display and has me pretty frustrated that we can’t just do it every week and look like a team.

Good stuff. So happy to finally have a win and a clean sheet. Big doubts still there but please build on this. Wan Bissaka was surprisingly good at right wing back.

What’s the point of hoping that we lost today when you knew Ole wouldn’t have been sacked even if we did?

They are not a good team but maybe that’s how we should setup against these mid table teams, so much quality up top and Varane just steadies everything. Cant see this being a new dawn but then goodness it’s a win and clean sheet.

If you think that's all there was to the match then ok.

I'm confused.

We've been leaking goals all season and struggled to keep clean sheets. The manager takes action to stop it and build some confidence back in the squad.

We win 3-0.

And the conversation is about the formation, not the result.

This result has made me more angry about last week. Why the feck couldn't he just have done something similar last week. Liverpool were there for the taking.
Anyway good performance, should give the team confidence for the next 2 big games.

8 defenders and no wingers? Ah, the United way!
Need to play a formation and tactic that suits the squad. No point mocking the 'United way' if you want us to play 4-4-2 your stuck in the 1990's. We had plenty of width down the wings today. Both wing backs played well today.

Probably not for the taking but effectively playing 4-2-4 against Liverpool was crazy.

Far better balanced today without 3 forwards not putting hard work in.

Can see a few seem annoyed that we won.

Good win, no complaints aside from Lingard coming on, just don't see the point in that. Ideal time to bring on someone like Donny or Sancho and he brings that on.

Spurs are also shit and play shit football.
Harry Kane moves worse than someone who's had both their hips done.

Professional performance when you need the most. Was important to keep contact with Chelsea. Great work by lot.

Was that really the same team that beat City on opening day?

Don't think we'll get an easier game this season.

And well done to our players for coming back from the catastrophe last week.
