CL D Champions League Group F

Atalanta 2:2 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Never seen any team give the ball away as cheaply and as often as that shower. They’re an absolute joke.

No one can honestly be happy with that performance
Ole should have gone last week but we move on
Eric should have playing instead of rushing Harry back
Have some faith in your squad
Anyone good enough to be in the squad should be trusted
I don’t even know where we go from here with Conte now at spurs

On face value, a point away from home in the CL is not a bad result, but the performance once again is what is shocking.
If we didn't lose that first game against Young Boys, this result wouldn't look too bad but right now it's bad because we have nooo idea how we going to come out when we play against Villarreal next.

Ronaldo makes another block as the P45 heads towards Ole's hands, trash performance and still only 1 point by way of Bailly's last ditch defending, although he was partly to blame for the 2nd, and Robaldo, the greatest goal scorer of all time.

Wrap him up in cotton wool. He is certainly our get out of jail card.

Papering over the cracks, how can a team with so much talent play so bad.
The manager must take a lot of the blame. maguire looks like he is playing with mud in is boots.

Thank god for Ronaldo but for goodness sake can the owners just put our hopeless manager out of his misery. There is no plan, no semblance of organisation and no improvement. On any single metric he fails the grade to manage Utd but he's a yes man that's keeping him in the job. What a travesty for the fans.

Why did Ole play a half fit Maguire against Leicester when Bailly was available? Thought he was solid today. As for Pogba…..

Its a shame we have Ole in charge.
Ronaldo could have fired us to a title.
Maguire needs to be sold asap

Sold? He's on a long term contract and we'd have to sell for 20M max.

A draw is a decent result. 1 more win should see us through.

Dogshit performance though.

The performances are what's really worrying though. Spurs was good but other than that we've been so sloppy and disjointed. Ronaldo is saving us at the moment, but he can't account for our lack of a midfield and Maguire completely forgetting how to play football.

That was really exhausting to watch. Ronaldo saved his job for today. Bailly was great. Bruno did well. Ronaldo is majestic. Donny looked good when he came on, who would have guessed. Maguire is a disaster. Pogba was awful.

Bailly's performance pretty much sums up United in a nutshell....does some brilliant things but majority of the time is shit and not organized

Really poor performance. Early game, sheer weight of numbers meant we were a bit more solid with three at the back, but the goal we conceded showed it was nothing more than that, no real organisation. Once we lost Varane and went four at the back we attacked a bit better but went back to our typical wide open chaotic worst in every other way. No control, sloppy all over the pitch, barely even a formation at times. Second half just did absolutely nothing, other than a moment of brilliance from Ronaldo. Completely typical of what we've come to expect from United under Ole.

In terms of the table, that result is enough to get through with. But these performances are going to send us into a tailspin if we don't sort them out.

So many shocking performances tonight. Special mentions to Pogba and Maguire, so so bad. Cant start against City.

Ronaldo and Bailly well played.

Ronaldo.

Say no more. That goal is a first time volley from twenty yards out. Bangs it in the bottom corner like it's a tap him.

Terrifying.

Rubbish performance yet again. It's disgraceful that Ole somehow still hasn't been sacked.

If we lose to Villarreal and Atlanta win both their remaining matches, it could be Europa league yet again

Bloody legend Ronaldo.

Doesn't change much for me in terms of Ole, just glad we got a point.

Ronaldo is ambitious though and a true winner - no way is he going to just give up easily. Wish the others would learn from him.

Ole needs to start trusting and giving vdb a chance over pogba. Let him leave in jan/the summer. He’s messed us around for so long and got us over a barrel. Play a guy who will give 100% over him.

Every talented player at this club must surely feel like each day they stay is a waste of their career. There's at least five or six players here who would undoubtedly be winning trophies elsewhere. We might hold onto the likes of Rashford and Greenwood, but how long until players like Bruno wouldn't dream of signing for United?

Important point but that was terrible. Not the sort of performance that changes anything for Ole.

The team still looks low on confidence, belief and fragile with no confidence in the system.

Still difficult to see a way back for Ole and I am really not looking forward to city. Play like we did today against city and we will get a hiding. I imagine Ole will need to go as soon as the club decide who they want to replace him.

Outplayed for 90 minutes and saved by Ronaldo.
What?? Did we watch the same match?

Not good enough, but a fair result. Saying it was luck is nonsense.

Anyway… Our performance was disappointing. Something is wrong. Only point(s) against City could save Ole.

They won't come up against many better than our number 7 either.
For such a low quality game it didn’t deserve either performance or Bailly at the back. Islands of excellence in an ocean of mediocrity

So many terrible performances today. Pogba, Bruno were both awful. Bruno had one good moment all game for the first goal, that was it. When he's not on it, he's just incredibly bad to watch.

It was a hopeless performance and we're lucky Ronaldo bailed us out.

Poor performance. Playing for a draw with the players we have compared to them. If it were Pep or Klopp with the same team bar pogba we would have won 3 - 0.

When the players keep letting the manager down over and over again... Where do you look?

I judge Ole harshly on his tactics, but I also judge some of these players harshly on their casual attitudes and constant errors. They shouldn't get a free ride here, they are making poor, poor mistakes and at times showing a complete lack of basic footballing ability.

So many shit performances that Sancho and Donny were probably our 4th and 5th best players

I think the main issue is that we don’t have a reliable LCB other than Maguire. Maguire has fitness issues apparently.

Atalanta outplaying us the entire match with some of their main players not even playing, the ball touches the referee and somehow Ronaldo scores and Oles job is saved again and the cycle goes on. Depressing stuff really.
