Manager. For the first time in my life I don't care if we sell any of them. Transfermarkt says the squad is worth £773m, I'd happily take £500m, right now and start again. Sadly, we would get nowhere near £500m for them. The squad stinks of medocrity, weakness and paycheck hunters. Yes the route problem is the Glazers and incompetents below them but the players have become just as bad in the last 6 months.

How about no one wanted to come mid season and wanted to wait and see if the interim made headway with some of the shitty attitude of the players. We're a big name club, not a big name on the football field these days. Ten Hag doing well at Ajax, same as Pocc. Conte was unemployed. Maybe they were hoping RR is a success and can carry on another 12 months? Like you I havent a clue, just putting what if scenario.
But do you not see how worrying it would be if they genuinely thought Rangnick was a better option than Conte? We're either run by fools or lunatics, perhaps both.
I think they thought they would have another Mourinho on their hands thats why they didnt go down that route.

It didn't sound like they even talked to Conte though! Lunacy, cowardice, call it whatever you want but there aren't many positive words I can think of. If you just want someone affable as the manager there are loads of people down the local church/pub that would have a go for nothing. Or Steve Bruce seems like a lovely fella. At some point you have to consider their success as a manager, recent experience etc though.
My pick would have been Zidane over Conte I'll admit, but Zidane didn't want the job and Conte did which counts for an awful lot in my book. It's not the only criterion though.
It’s got to be manager right? The amount of managers we’ve had and the same players yet they can’t perform under anyone. They don’t like this manager because he’s making them work a lot harder and they don’t like it as there use to being a bunch of lazy overpaid players who’ve never been asked to press or work as a team by previous managers so there not use to it. When things get tough they always blame the manager and say they need to adapt to his methods blah blah blah. It’s all a load of bull. On the other side though the manager needs to grow some balls and start dropping the underperforming players. Van de beek can’t even get a game yet the same rubbish can. Waste of 40 mil there.
