Pay what you want for Championship Manager 2010

Appartently the system is fecked and people are being charged twice/three times for the game. A PR stunt thats pissed off yet more of their loyal customers

Just saw this and was about to start the same thread.

I haven't played any CMs since FM came out. I was going to ask if they are any good but the consensus seems to be that they are not!

Will probably buy it for a couple quid though, why not?

£2.50 transaction fee. 1p for the game. I expect it to be shit, terrible even, but for £2.51 feck it.

Wouldn't write-off Championship Manager 2010, seeing as how SI have messed up Football Manager for the past few years.

For Eidos's point-of-view, this will help them gain some interested customers who will be attracted to the low price, and they will look to use this leverage for Championship Manager 2011 (or 2012).

Yeah saw it this morning and was gonna post it. They have the demo out and I can only see bad comments about this. Apparently in gameplay even set to its fastest on the slider it takes 45 secs to complete 1 minute!!
They seem to have introduced features that were introduced by FM 2009 such as 3D matchplay and Media centre. If they sort out the matchplay bug I am not going to argue at £2.51! It might just make me appreciate FM 2010 even more!!

Wouldn't normally go for the Champ Manager series but can't really go wrong with £2.51. Smart idea really as its just the downloadable version so they're not losing money on the disc, packaging etc. and it will probably attract loads who wouldn't have bothered otherwise.

ok been playing it for a gew hours just casually... and erm... its actually alright... seriously....

Hmm, it isn't too bad really. There was initial annoyance at the fact it was so similar but yet so different to Football Manager. When you get past that, it is a good game.

I'm playing as Toulouse. Only plan on making 2 signings (both left backs, unsure who yet) which is most unlike me as I am normally a bit of a transfer muppet on these sorts of games. I'm adapting my tactics to try to get the best out of star men Gignac and Sissoko. Quite like the look of my right winger Devaux.

My squad, if anyone cares -

GK: Pele, Yonga
RB: Ebonda, Fofana
LB: [TBA - NEW], [TBA - NEW]
CD: Congre, M'Bengue, Cetto, Tchounkeur
DM (with licence to move forward): Sissoko, Berson
CM: Didot, Capoue
RM (with instructions to come infield): Devaux, Braaten
LM (with instructions to come infield): Machado, Mansare
FW: Soukouna, Luan
ST: Gignac, Pentecote

Thinking of signing Armand Traore or Landry Madou (Lens) on loan for my second choice left back. My first choice will probably be one of Ilsinho, Hakan Balta, Edgar Castillo and Luis Ibanez.

There's some awesome young Greek players on the game. Tachtsidis (CM) is under my consideration for next year or January, as is Giantsis (ST).

Just about to play my last pre-season game. I've been solid but unspectacular in previous matches so far.

I've played a few hours on it and it's actually not that bad, definitely playable.

I'm United and have the the consummate transfer muppet. I've brought in Eden hazard & Daniel De Rossi and have other various bids dotted about for a striker.
