Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

How do you know he doesn't want to play for us? You are just drawing conclusions based on speculations.

No, it's what you choose to believe.

I think he did praise the club in past and left the door open, the fact he has not kicked up a fuss so that Madrid can low ball Juventus and happily agreed to come to us means, he has a connection to us. He is not getting forced to come back.

There is a lot more evidence stating that he does want a move back to United than not. And I'm talking about what Pogba himself has said, not what the media claims he wants.

When has Pogba actually stated that he wants to go to Madrid or sees himself playing there? If so, link? I've requested this many times in the past, but I never get the facts. Pogba has stated that he still fancies United and has many friends here. He didn't want to leave, but felt he had to. His words.

"I don't know where I want to go". That was Pogba's response when pressed on a move United. Hardly a ringing endorsement is it guys? More like a 'come and get me' to other clubs. Including that "great club" Madrid to use his own words. Evidence? He left us once before! Here's where the quote is from:

http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...don-t-know-if-i-want-to-go-back-a3296986.html

Real are CL champions, United 5th in the EPL. Their manager Zidane is a French legend that he likes. La Liga is the most attractive league for the star players, etc. There is plenty of indirect evidence even if there are no quotes. Only a very optimstic person would think that Pogba would prefer to play for United right now.
...or a United fan...

Yeah but that also allows for staying at Juventus and not offending anyone if the deal falls through. You can look at it however you want. Also it makes the saga more interesting. You are saying he wants to go to Madrid and that's fine. But he never said he wanted to go Madrid did he?...There are zero rumors he's agreed terms with them....

Everything about this is open ended but that doesn't mean anything. The biggest transfer is made better when other clubs were considering paying the same price...

Yes because a player has to be 100% committed to us and we need to be their first choice or they're not welcome here. Guess we should get rid of De Gea then too. :)

This post sums up my point. This is how the media looks at it. Not every player wants to play for Madrid. I'm sure Pogba admires Madrid and maybe he has thought about trying to sign for them one day. But there are no actual facts pointing to him wanting to play there right now. Its all speculation. Maybe he wants to make a return to United(the team he played for in his teens) and help them regain glory? We have one of the best managers in the world and we play in the best league in the world(arguably). Maybe he wants a challenge? Speculation goes both ways. The only facts revolve around United.

I never said he wants to go to Madrid. I'm talking about his desire to play for United.

I never said he came out and said he wanted to go to United. And why would he right now? He and his agent are trying to maximize the fee and acting like he doesn't want to leave is the best angle. I only stated that Pogba has openly shown more admiration to United than Madrid.

I'm living in the real world. Not in FIFA 16. Genuine desire to want to play for a club counts for a lot. Look at all the most successful big money moves recently. Bale openly wanted to join Madrid, it was his dream. Suarez and Neymar were the same with Barça. There is not one shred of evidence that Pogba respects United. Let alone has a desire to return and lead our midfield. That's the reality.
Money > Desire
And I assume you are happy with Ibra's desire? And Depay? And Januzaj? And etc, etc?
This isn't the nineties. Players use their current club to achieve their goals. If Pogba wants to use us so he can end up at Madrid then I'm fine with it.
If he wants Madrid to buy him from us then he has to improve even more, so that Madrid is willing to pay the price - OUR price. Which will be more than what we paid in the first place.

De Gea was put in his place. Thankfully. You can do that with a player under contract, unlike one we are trying to get to sign a contract.

He has to want to go somewhere. He's been quoted as having no issue with United. If he had any problem returning, we'd know about it by now. The fact he's considering it or it's a possibility - at a time we're in the Europa is a big compliment. It don't appear like he'll be signing an extention at Juventus. We hear for a period, Juventus wanted to keep him. No contact. There's no talk of that anymore. All it is, is negotiations between the clubs..That should tell you something..

That has got to be the worst argument you've posted in a while. Keeping a player who is contracted against his will is acceptable, but a player who isn't contracted to us who is willing to join us, is unacceptable? I'm done here.

Because he's really going to say Manchester when he's still a Juve player with no deal signed.

That's old news. And also: What do you expect him to say? "i want to go MU!" ? He doesn't want to burn bridges in case the deal falls through.

btw: seems like Raiola has taken a 5 million cut so the deal can go on? quite generous of him, i wouldn't have budged considering if RM come in next year and offer 80 million he still gets 16 million.

What a horrid post. I was happy with Evra's desire, a player who never wanted to leave. There were mercenaries back in the 90s too you know. Ask any Inter Milan fan where signing those types of characters got them. If that's the direction you want our club to take I'm afraid I'm not with you.

You haven't got a clue what Pogba's desire is. You're assuming you know how he feels and then basing your entire opinion of him on that assumption. There's no evidence to support your opinion either. But then you're a person who has already admitted you don't like him because of his hair style, and that you'd prefer Matuidi instead of him. So really when it comes to Pogba your opinion shouldn't count for anything.

Has he? When?
Picked these quotes up.

"He said 'your time will come' but it never did. It didn't come. But it does not mean I will speak ill of Manchester United. I love the club."

In an earlier interview, Pogba had said the final straw at United had come when Ferguson picked full-back Rafael ahead of him in midfield.

Pogba said: "It was a very, very difficult moment for me because I was in love with Manchester and I was a Mancunian."

My last post in the mains for today.:(

Good luck to everyone. Don't lose your minds .

It worked with De Gea didn't it? None is bigger than the club. So much so we'll sabotage your move to Madrid. Pogba is 'willing' is he? I want more than some one willing to grace us with his presence. I want genuine desire to play here.

It clearly isn't. You are conflating speculation and indirect evidence. These are very different things. There are excellent reasons for Pogba to want to go the most glamorous club out there that happens to be CL champions and are being managed by a French legend of the game. It would be only specualtion if the likes of Chelsea were rumoured to be involved.

Eagerly awaiting the "Cannae take the strain Cap'n" when it's announced Pogba is not coming.

FFS Pog, just sign for Real already. I can't wait for the meltdown.

Five minutes inbetween these two posts. Obviously looking for a reaction and not got one so had to attention seek again. Thread ban requested so this guy can not enjoy this thread either way.

@Raoul

Avoided the thread since saturday as it got a bit silly. Cam back today, saw someone call it pogba day, then a bunch of posts about pogba going to Real. Time to leave again!

You've less of a clue what his desire is!

Not attention, just Grinching. There needs to be a balance to muppetry.

Once again, you have no idea what his 'desire' is. Not to add, I could argue De Gea's desire wasn't to stay in Manchester as it was reported he was still holding out for Madrid even after a very good season. So basically a player already at the club who wants to leave is more acceptable than one who isn't contracted to the club who is happy to join?

You're living in the past if you're expecting Evra's and Keane's. We are a business, we have been shite for 3 years and if were to only recruit players dying to play for us that wouldn't be changing anytime soon.

You sign players who win you football games, I couldn't give a flying feck if he hated the club, which he doesn't.
