well yeah we should be happy for now with pogba. I just hope the deal should be around 70 million and there is also other option like moussa sissoko that outshine pogba in euro 16.

just read the news that juventus interested in Sissoko.. I bet it will be like replaced Zidane with nedved in 2000 :D man juventus is really genius in transfer market :lol:
You are comparing Nedved with Sissoko?..you can't be serious? We know how good Sissoko is we saw him get relegated with Newcastle last season and played maybe a couple of good games . While he showed a few decent runs during the Euro's he didn't actually do anything that created anything. If you would prefer Sissoko to Pogba based on a few games at the Euro's you either a WUM or seriously lacking in judgement.

I can't anything happening until the weekend now, also he still has a medical and complete contractual stuff so that will take 2-3 days.

I asked the barber on Snapchat (yes, I am a 13 y/o girl) if he knew anything about Pogba. He surprisingly said he had no clue and was just guessing based on the rumours he had heard. Really thought he was ITK, devastated :(:(

What difference to the kit launch would Pogba's signing make in reality? I really don't see how announcing them on the same day would have any tangible benefits. Is this connection coming from somewhere?

That's a no brainier surely?

Develop young players, or let them go for cheap, and buy them back for 120m pounds.

How this is being seen as a great thing is baffling.

Obviously if you look at how we have handled Pogba between 2011 and now it's uttery terrible. A lot of the people who are now happy at this signing will probably be the same people who called him names when it was rumored that we did not want to give him the outrageous £30k a week he apparently had asked for back in 2012.

However if you look at this deal now it's not all that bad. He's a very good player with world class potential and will be able to improve the team from the very start. Obviously not a great price but if we can afford it then it's not a major worry. We've been after this huge transfer for 3 years straight (I won't consider Di Maria one because Real Madrid wanted to sell him).

Am I the only one who thinks this might not happen, despite the flurry of reports yesterday?

Maybe I'm just in shock

Actually keeping Pogba would have been counterproductive I think. There is no way in hell Real Madrid wouldn't have come calling during our barren years under Moyes and LvG, and Pogba probably would have requested a transfer. And who could have blamed him?

He's the face of adidas along with Messi. It'd be huge for them

L'Equipe said it's done. Di Marzio said there is only small things to work through and he committed himself to MUFC when Madrid came back sniffing around.

In football transfers nothing is guaranteed until he's on the training ground. However this is close to being done. Pogba is likely to return to MUFC.

And who he be the player he is today, given what happened in the last 3/4 years at rhe club?

More important than transfer fees, how far off from breaking transfer thread records are we? What are the rankings atm and where does our boy rank?

Probably wouldn't have progressed as much as he did at Juve either. He got a fair deal of playing time even in his first season at Juve.

He probably still would have shown enough to be wanted by RM. And let's face it, where Juventus is getting roughly £100m we would have been lucky to get £40-50m

For that price RM would have snapped him up from us, no doot'aboot that.

Literally buzzing if we get him, will have a truly class player to build around he's only 23. Couldn't care less about the money just want to see united do well on the pitch, this guy can create from nothing and has the physicality to perform in the premiership.

I'm also holding back my excitement. I've been a member of this forum for a long time and seen many sagas reach breaking point before disappearing to obscurity the following week. I'll allow myself the get carried away when the BBC start saying he's on his way over for a medical or Juventus have accepted a bid.

Why isn't it announced yet? How many more muppet sacrifices does Woody need before he puts us out of our misery?

If Madrid weren't currently well stocked in the midfield department they would have been all over this transfer, especially with their impending transfer ban. They'd have pushed the price down by forcing the player to make public his desire to leave Juventus and join them and probably got him for around €80m-€90m. I'm pretty sure that if we do sign him they'll say something along the lines of "We could have signed him last season if we wanted to for €50m but we decided we had better players in his position". They're not going to like us breaking the world transfer record or beating them to a player who's considered a Galactico.

Bang average player who didn't even stand out in a Newcastle side that just got relegated, how exactly is he a viable alternative to Pogba?

Also you can't compare Sissoko with Nedved.

it said 92 million for juventus and 18,5 million pounds for his agent?? does it mean we have to pay total 110 million for him??

Jesus what an overpirced player.. he is not game changer like cristiano or messi.. but oh well we don't have much choice anyway...
It sort of strikes me as breaking the transfer record for the sake of it and to "make a statement" rather than cos he's actually worth it.

Same here keep thinking back to the time we nearly got Benzema and Madrid suddenly appeared out of nowhere and bought him from under our noses.

Yup. The overrating of Sissoko since he ran around a-lot during the Euros is hilarious. This is the same Sissoko that has offered feck all to Newcastle for a long time and was booed by his own fans for a blatant lack of effort. He really is mediocre and any top team should steer well clear.

That one is funny because it did happened like that, United were never in the driving seat because United and Madrid made an offer at the same time and Benzema had an agreement with Aulas that 35m from Madrid would be accepted without negotiation.

Can't believe people actually think Juventus would be getting a cracking deal by replacing Pogba with Sissoko, regardless of price difference. They're absolute miles apart in terms of quality, Sissoko was pretty useless for Newcastle in a lot of games and only showed up when he could be arsed. He's known for notoriously refusing to try.

Welcome to the almighty EPL where somebody will pay around 20-25 mln pounds for a fecking relegated useless winger who actually shined in the Euros.

As for Pogba himself, had a quick glance at reddit, you guys seen that his barber said that he had to change Pogba's hair colour for his new team and then he hashtagged us? Took the photo down off his instagram but somebody capped it

Sissoko wasn't even that good at the Euros. He had one game where he looked dangerous, without actually doing much.

Every week Utd delay saves £250k in wages

You're right. In fact if we don't sign him at all, we'd save 65 million asuming he'd have had a five year contract. Plus the 120 million tranfer fee. So really we're making 185 million by not signing him. We's be stupid not to not buy him. :)

Good thinking outside the box

I must confess that on the one hand I'll be delighted when/if he arrives but on the other I still haven't forgiven him for leaving in the first place. We are going to pay a world record fee for someone who was our player a few years ago. That rankles. Then I see him splashing himself all over the social media and wonder if it will come to a clash between him and Mourinho a few years down the line, one where player power wins.

I guess there are two things I should tell myself :
1 - get over it
2 - become part of the modern world

Nope. You, and me, are not paying for this transfer no more than we are paying for the new machine the company who makes our morning cereals invests in.

If you are a stock owner you are paying, or investing rather.

Being in debt is not bad. Being in uncontrolled debt with not enough turnover for mortgage and interest is bad.

Debt as a way to finance investment is essential for a company.
Well said. Thinking we as fans have or should have any say in the way the club handles money is idiotic. We're customers, not share holders.

It really seems weird how so many people care about the way the club is spending. It's already been shown this isn't even our most expensive deal compared to revenue. Just worry about what's happening on the pitch, because that is what you're actually paying for with tickets, and I'm sure we can all agree Pogba is going to improve that. It doesn't even matter if we could have improved for less, it's none of our concern and we have no say in it. So think of it like this, you're getting to see an extra £100m worth of player on the pitch with you pay for your tickets and no extra cost. You should be happy. It's like getting gold sprinkled on your corn flakes for free.

I don't know if it's the Internet that makes people feel so entitled or what.

Don't worry, in 3-4 years with high probability only one of Pogba or Mourinho will still be at United, maybe even none.
