Marseille was not expected to continue trumping Bayern though. Juventus are a big club flooded with world class talent. Its a completely different story there.

So you think juve are expected to continue trumping United?

Marseille kept playing the C1 from that specific season until the 2011-2012 season, so they were stable.
The point is not to compare all, but it is that with a specific project to get back to the top, players can be convinced with a year without the C1.

It's not really relevant. Juventus are a big club. A European giant with prestige and history.

Bayern and Marseille aren't comparable. United and Juventus are.

Don't know if he is blacklisted but he is Italian and has 29k followers.

If true, no way would Pogba turn us down.

If you believe the quotes from his father? (they were earlier inthe thread I think....) I think - he wants to play in a better league. Not win the CL with Juventus though I'm sure he'd like to. The guys been slated playing for France and he has to ask the question - is he improving to the level he should? We'll never know because Frances coach trusted him to be negative and trusted him sit back and defend. Most of this might be bs and it might all come down to money and even when they sign for the Madrids of this world, these players ask for a lot of money. Greedy? Absolutely. But we're basically watching a panto and not a very good one.

That's not to say Juventus are not a good team! That's to say that maybe their opponents in the Italian League may not offer that much of a challenge - enough to push them to another level

I think there won't be a big difference between the two clubs over the next 2 years at least. Meaning Pogba is likely to feel he's in no rush to leave at 23 years old and within reach of 5 straight Scudettos & an extra Champions League campaign with a squad capable of going to very advanced stages.

Being stable is one thing, but being expected to be over sizeable club like Bayern Munich is another. I don't believe too much into the whole project line players give. Them saying "this is a fantastic project" is just a nice way of saying "I'm being paid way more to be here, so I came".

got to be made up rubbish, he knows by now what we are offering.

"@EmaGiulianelli
Mourinho all-in for Griezmann, first offer €55mln but can reach €70mln. #MUFC #ManUtd
6:33 PM - 7 Jun 2016"

Safe to say he's either a fake or an idiot

He's supposed to know the contract already. There is the official news, but the reality should be that he already knows.

Fair enough, I can understand this. In the case of Pogba, even though money will play a factor, the respect he has for sir Alex and the club will also play a role in my opinion. Anyway, what is Raiola doing? Make it happen, if Juventus accepted the bid!

Really hope he doesn't come. Full faith that Mourinho will find/cultivate other great midfielders.

The league situation is different as well. We're not in a United or Arsenal time. It's top 5 now with billionaires spending a lot more and huge TV deals for the other top clubs and a risk of not qualifying, one could argue after last season a potential top 6-7 but even if we cement a top 4 place each year you still have a huge task of winning the league. Spain you have 2 teams guaranteed plus one other with less spending. Germany you have 2 teams and one outsider with less spending, and if one falters it can get back being in the top 2 easily. Italy used to be very strong with many top clubs but right now it sadly looks like Juve and anyone else who can sort themselves out after the mess its in.

Bayern getting back on their feet means winning the league most times or coming second. Look at the amount of top managers here in England as well this season, it makes for a great spectacle but there's going to be lots of disappointment come the end.

Bear in mind there are programs out there, that can get people twitter 'followers' very fast. We're talking about fake profiles with fake followers to give you the perception they're legit or popular......always best to check out some of their prior claims

I thought silly Tweets couldn't be included :p, any old twonk with a beard and a surname like a posh Pasta dish seems to have credit on the net these days, the likes of these offend my eyes.

This is all a bit stale right now, do we still have a faithful that are confident on Pogba coming back or is this just this summers media's stupidity?

It is a strange one that neither side are making any noise at all ,but I guess its too early to call ....I'm not sure Jose will sit around whilst we have a cat fight with Juventus, unless he is 99.9% sure that its worth the battle - I imagine he has other names lined up, maybe he will surprise us all?

What is the situation of Juve striker now Morata has gone? Morata used to come up with some incredibly important goals for Juve in the CL over the years and Juve had Bayern in their pocket in the last 16 until Morata was taken off last year, then they got smashed. Juve are going to need some jammy bastard striker like Morata or other top signing to continue impressing in the CL.

@Acquire Me seems to think it was a done deal, no matter what we read on the SSN.
I choose to follow that path... the muppet God may punish me, but he may reward me too!

Don't they have Mandzukic? I think they have Zaza but this guy does not seem to be that great. Dybala could be the next big thing.

I think everything depends on Pogba now. IMO, Juve will accept the offer if Pogba really wants to leave for United and there is already an agreement between Raiola and United. Everything's in place apart from Pogba's decision.

I'm wondering if Juve and Raiola are now battling over whether Pogba will hand in a transfer request and forfeit his payout. Juve saying they'll reject the offer and Raiola saying he's not desperate to leave would definitely make more sense if that's what is happening.

The general consensus among the sensible posters who can rise above childish insults on Juve board seems to be, Pogba to Utd is a done deal. Their most reliable ITK who according to many has a near perfect track record said it's done and Juve is now trying to do other businesses before it being made public.

The other posters are also citing different sources who claimed it's a done deal. Apparently Pogba has expressed his desire to come back to United, and he and Jose have been texting each other for quite some time now. Someone whose cousin works at Adidas store said his cousin told him they stopped selling Pogba's shirt.

However, the BlueMoonish infants on there are still in denial (can't blame them actually because 'It ain't over till the fat lady sings') and carrying on with their thought provoking comments like "Feck United, why would Pogba go there it's a step down", "Thick Mancs can't get it that Juventus is far superior and we don't need their money", "Pogba won't go there and he'd move to Madrid (so it's OK to be Madrid's biatch )", "Retards on RedCafe think they're a top club", "It'd be hilarious when they spend 100m on Joe Allen".

At this point just like the Mkhi deal I'm starting to think it's nearly done. But people should not get carried away as 'It ain't over till the fat lady sings'.

I don't believe anything in this thread. These ITKs are just unimportant oiks trying to become relevant in some way.

This.

Thats is what I think the quotes were about yesterday. He always plays games and it more likely to be the opposite of what he says otherwise it doesn't give him a great bargaining position with contract talks to say he will say.

If he stays Juventus will not only lose the £100m they will also need to increase he wages dramatically and extra signing fee's agent fee's etc. So for them they would be down £125m + other player's they have wanting an increase which is a lot of money in a league that they are currently walking. I think we would feel a bigger gain on the pitch then they would lose on the pitch with him going.

Its almost always the will of the player that dictates whether or not he leaves a club.

I've said this before but I think he will stay at Juventus and transfer to Madrid at some point in time. I dont feel like he thinks theres anything for him to do in the PL, also no CL makes a big difference for him I think. I hope we have our back ups ready because this feels like it will be one of those long protracted transfer sagas.

And this makes perfect sense from their point of view. Now they are just Juventus trying to buy players. After Pogba's sale, they're Juventus plus 120 mln Euro, which will make other clubs milk them whenever possible as they have the money.

Apparently Pogba has expressed his desire to come back to United.

This was the main point Sport witness was talking about when the L'Equipe article came out. The same journo who discussed pogba "wanting to complete the circle" by returning was the same journo that interviewed pogba not too long ago.

Bookies have remain at Juve as the favourite outcome for the first time in a long time, but that could just be down to a flurry of betting activity after Raiola's comment.

I wouldn't read too much into the bookies. I also don't think the loyalty bonus is an issue. If it's just a money issue, United can offer him a signing bonus and that's it. If the issue is more on "who's taking the blame" and Juventus needing to make sure it was Pogba's decision to leave, maybe there's something going on there.

But it's very quiet this morning, very unexpected after such a Monday.

There is no way Juventus thinks of increasing a player with 3 years left even though he tries to get it by leveraging other clubs. I would be very surprised. In my book, Juventus seems to be a club which would just accelerate the sale of the player if he's being too greedy before the expected timeline.

So we feck up and dont offer him a contract before his contract runs out and in addition to that we dont play him when we didnt have specialist midfielders in the entire squad and you are blaming him for leaving?

He was offered a contract. Not sure where you got that untruth from?
He left Le Harve, he left United.... There's a theme going on.
He does what he wants with his career, I'm not blaming him simply pointing out he has previous & his mouthpiece agent is trying to get him to his club of choice. We are not his number one choice, otherwise his agent would be acting far differently, as we have recently seen.

Yeah, don't give any credence to anything written on that board, one way or the other.

We wanted to sign the extension, not sure if it was unilateral but probably wasn't. He left instead. His agent changed between Le Havre and Juventus as well. I think the boy deserves a second chance.
