Ole's press conference vs Spurs

He gets treated very differently by the media than Van Gaal and Mourinho.
I’m what way leniency? I think that’s purely because he’s a pretty open and affable interviewee. LVG and Jose didn’t hide their disdain for the press. The got what they gave.

Here is the equivalent press conference from Van Gaal to see history repeating itself

Pretty much

Banter FC, banter manager. He should be answering questions about how he comes to work with a straight face after that embarrassment against Pool.

You can knock his answers I guess but some of the questions the media come up with are dreadful
Because they are not Utd fans and because they get one question to ask, which is given to Karen in advance. They wouldn't risk getting banned by asking anything to serious

I finally gave up hope on Sunday. Everyone gave up on him at some point you melt. I won't feel bad about supporting a club legend. He's done more for this club than you and I will ever do. Maybe he's earned some respect eh?

The Glazers and Woodward are now to blame for not removing him. Nobody should survive a 5-0 home loss to a rival team except maybe Fergie.
So you came to the conclusion we were telling you for the last 3 years only on sunday? It took you a long time.

“I've had players come up to me. For example I don't read social media but when Paul came up to me, angry. We expect to be criticised, hands up, the performance wasn't good enough, we don't expect, we can't accept when lies are made up. Paul told me what he put up on his social media. We're better than that as a group - the culture, environment is better, we can't stand for blatant lies. They've gotta stand up and say so. All the opinions and reports, fine, but don't make up lies about players or me."

"The boys will give their best as they always do...of course that was nowhere near their best..." Can he be any less inspiring? Absolute fraud of a manager, and I don't really care if that sounds cruel. I'll always love the player but I'm sick of Ole the manager.

He referred to the Liverpool defeat as round 1 of a boxing match. If you ask me we've already been through so many rounds without any real fight so this was the final blow.

We will still be on the floor for the Spurs game and probably won't get back up.

About as coherent as his coaching.

Apart from the waffle there were stories in the press about Pogba snubbing Ole and he was on SM giving out about them making shit up.

 Round 1, more like being slaughtered, toyed with and humiliated in the ring so badly that you'd be scared to show your face for the following week.

But really, this needs to end.

I'm so sick of hearing about these gimps holding their hands up. Means nothing if the same mistakes are repeated, week-in, week-out.

The boxing match Ole meant to compare it to was Apollo Creed vs Ivan Drago

Am I the only one that thinks that if he's the right man, there probably shouldn't have been 2 or 3 crises in under 3 years?
Not sure. He took over one right at the start and did everything that was asked from a caretaker and put smiles on a lot of our faces.

The the next dip came and it recovered pretty strongly.

This one though there is no way out of for him most of us know that.

Will always worship the bloke as a footballer - can separate that success from the decent bloke who was kept longer than he should have been as a manager.

I hope he gets his payoff soon and enjoys it I don't blame him one bit for not resigning - the Glazers can afford it.

A report said that Pogba was Ole out. Pogba posted on social media that this was a lie. I think Ole is trying to say the players are still with him and the media are stirring.

To be fair he referred to going a goal down in the first 4 minutes to being knocked down in the first round.

Won’t be anything that’d interest you mate.

He’s commending Pogba on coming forward and standing up for him on social media.

Why is everyone here so toxic? You’re making some CAF members sad :(

Pogba put out a tweet saying that all that was written about him snubbing Ole was fake news.

So you came to the conclusion we were telling you for the last 3 years only on sunday? It took you a long time.

At least he came around, so gotta give him some credit for that.

There is still a sizable group of people who are "OLE FOREVER". Due to the recent string of awful results, they've been quiet, but you can usually spot them saying thing like how Ole is still "better fit" than the likes of Conte, Zidane, Rodgers, Ten Hag, etc and therefore should be kept until we find that perfect manager (which we never will because their goal is actually just keeping Ole in the job rather than hiring a better manager). Ffs, we're still seeing posts comparing Ole to SAF.

If there is one thing Ole has done amazingly, it's developing this fanatic fanbase who will turn on the club before they turn on Ole.

Ole does get a pretty easy ride.
The journalists don’t really ask tough questions of him. For example
- Why have there been mutiple crises of similar nature?
- Why did he start a very similar 11 to the one that did so poorly against Atalanta
- Why do players such as VdB, Lingard, Telles struggle to get game time given other players in that position have repeatedly fail?
- why do the players look lost on the pitch against tactically drilled teams?

The questions the journos asked today are so bad and don’t actually get Ole talking about footballing matters.

I don’t know what the feck the Tyson Fury analogy was all about shouldn’t be getting knocked down to begin with.

It’s so depressing to see where this is going. We’ll probably scrape a draw or even a win tomorrow with Ronnie playing against Spurs. Similar affair in the CL and then I expect City will beat us but it won’t be humiliating so that will be the crisis over. New contracts all round for getting through it unscathed after the worst and most pathetic humiliation in memory. One more season written off and we go again next season with Ole at the wheel sans driving license or map.

Hard to disagree with him here.

Not all of them, some of them are still in the caf abusing and personalizing posts with other posters, they are having a meltdown. As I said , I used to believe they are loyal Ole supporters, but now I am not, I am starting to believe they are rival fans in disguise, the only fans who sing his "at the wheel" song at the moment.

hes like Homer Simpson. He nearly destroys the power plant on numerous occasions but Mr Burns keeps him in the job

Like the type of answer BoJo gives. None the wiser :nervous:

I don't really expect anything different from him. However, the journalists are so...meh. They did not even try to get into a tactical discussion.

Half of them just asked the same question in different ways.

Its just poor, really. Nobody thinks, or expects, a press conference will turn into a tactical lecture. However, they could try to get him to say something about what he is trying to achieve. They could even have referred to previous games he's managed against Nuno, and whether he thinks he will need a different approach to deal with Nuno's tactics.

The fact they are basically incapable of any questions besides really soft or why don't you play Van de Beek more is terrible. It really is.
Yeah have to agree and I’m the last person to want to see Ole be ripped apart but those questions were pathetic, no other word for it, might as well have talked about the weather and what he’s up to for Halloween.

I’d have liked to hear (and if I’m Ole I would have appreciated the opportunity) to explain what the vision is for this team and what he feels is going wrong in implementing it currently.

I love how these gowls come up with all sorts during the week.

Get the chance to ask some questions.. well only a select few do.

oh.. all the questions have to be pre approved. Do they?

Afraid so, so you can only ask generic pointless questions and expect generic pointless answers. But you go ahead and feel free to take any snippet of words you like and make a headline and a pointless article about it.

Should have just started quoting Rudyard Kipling - stood up and said United will be playing four four fecking two and walk out.

It’s about Paul on social media calling ‘fake news’ on Custis article that claimed Pogba will not renew it Ole remains manager.
