Panasonic (now the name of the whole group) is the largest CE manufacturer in the world, and the only real main player now in the plasma business. Sony is having trouble competing in the LCD market, it's that tough now. OLED at decent sizes and at decent cost is years away. I doubt that Panasonic are going to go down the LCD only route, especially now that the cost of both LCD and Plasma are very close.

Yeah but Dumpy thinks we should be spending a few grand on OLEDs. Anyway, in less than a decade most of us will have 3D TVs. Technology hardly stagnates. . . but cost is the major issue.
 
They don't make them any more, they've pulled out of the TV business, or was that just plasma?

Either way, no LCD can give the image quality of a plasma.

Ahh just remembered you were right, picked up the last of the stock at my local department store, shame really cracking TVs.

And those Kuros were the closest you could get to obtaining a plasma picture, they actually produced better pictures than some Plasmas in the 50' range.
