Non-televised academy matches | U21s vs West Ham | Fri 29 Nov

AZ have one of the best youth teams in Europe. Will be a tough test, Probably a few of the team will have first team experiencevw

They were one of the best - but that generation is in the first team squad. Their results at youth level this season have been poor - but it's hard to know how if they picked a strong team in the league matches.

Armer starting ahead of Munro is interesting (he's also the only first year U18 starting). Maybe the RCB/LCB balance?

Judging by the updates the home side has been the better team in the first half, at least in terms of creating chances.

2-1 . Not bad. Certainly have a great chance in the return leg. Wonder why Martin didnt play

Decent result in Holland where youth teams are always very strong gives us a real chance in the second leg. Encouraging

The U21s host West Ham in PL2 tonight (19:00 GMT kickoff). Busy weeks in terms of fixture list for our academy, so it'll be interesting to see who's playing tonight. A relatively healthy first team also means that we don't have to save anyone for the first team bench.

Probably shouldn’t say this aloud but our injury list even at academy level seems pretty short at the moment.
