Well fair enough..

Didn't think this thread was directed towards Westerners, but thought it was more to do with our fellow regular Bollywood watchers.. :)

But obviously those ones I listed wouldn't be the ones I'd suggest to Westerners since I recognise what they look for in movies might definitely not be what is directed towards crowds with more "South Asian" tastes.

For example would never suggest something like Hera Pheri to a westerner, but I'd definitely tell a fellow Indian about it..

I should borrow an Indian movie, god knows the place I work at has a load of them. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam etc etc

That covers all the major languages in India, right?

EDIT; I know we've got movies in the following languages

Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Sinhalese.
 
I noticied one with Kal Penn in the Hindi section a week ago, looked quite good....can't remember what the name of the film is though. Something about a journey.
 
for all the glamour and money involved most of the best movies to come out of india were not in hindi but from regional languages mainly in bengali and malayalam
