Munich Remembered - 6th February 1958

My first post in the mains.

I would like it to be one where I pay my respects.
They will never be forgotten.

RIP.

Nice post mate, careful you will have us changing our opinion of rival fans ;)

On another note I have a huge tribute lined up in my history thread for the babes.

Always cry on this day. Crying now.

RIP. :(

It's hard to hold back the tears and not feel a sense of woe and sorrow.

I usually (being in another time zone) try to just confine my remembrance to a small degree and pay my respects then move away because of it.

I get far to entrenched in the pain that everyone went through. They are there to be remembered for what they could have been, what they should have been. Taken way to soon.

This thread has brought me close to tears.

RIP.

Gone but never forgotten.
I've just read this thread through from start to finish, watched every youtube video, and I'm a mess.
Amazing to think what would have happened had the babes been able to grow up and mature as a team.
But also what that might have meant for Best and Law.

Really emotional at the Munich memorial before the game. Will post some videos when I get back.

Does anyone know If we are going to start using the flag at every game?

The blue scouse are generally a respectful bunch. I take it they behaved today?

Pretty much apart from singing during the flowers of manchester over the PA, they are there to cheer their team on after all I guess. We did the same at Anfield.

As promised heres a video of the tribute at 3pm yesterday. Quite a few lads close to tears.

Great job by Pete as ever.

R.I.P

Sad day and so many lives lost and families effected. Also the day that set us on the path to becoming what we are today.

Real Madrid wanted Sir Matt Busby as their manager and he said “ no thanks, I want to make Manchester United what you guys are”

After Munich when Real won the European cup they offered to give United the trophy and offered De Steffano on loan. Sir Matt rejected both and within 10 years we won the European Cup when it was a truly elite cup, I think from that is a life lesson.

RIP.

Always wondered what could have been and how many more European cups we would have won.
