That's the one reason i would almost forgive him for what he did. He pissed off country music fans (the modern, shit, country music fans i.e. not the same people who like Jonny Cash).

Er no. He's just a untalented brat who thinks he's apparently so good at what he does, which he isn't, that he can do whatever he wants to.

It isn't about the fans. It's about letting someone have their moment they've worked so hard for and earned.

Nah. More publicity for a untalented individual and bad publicity for the music industry in general. And extremely unfair on a young artist who should be able to enjoy her accomplishments. Lose lose lose.
 
Yawn...it's not really that bad is it?..I mean, he didn't slander anyone or directly insult anyone or physically hurt anyone..He slightly embarrassed a girl at a self congratulationary back slapping event for rich and famous people!...Holy Shit Batman!!!!!

I mean he did act like an idiot, but the fact he's had to apologuise like he murdered someone is farcical...yet again celebrity culture taking itself faaar too seriously

No these people get paid millions to create rubbish music the least they can do is behave themselves at award functions. They score low on every parameter - talent, character etc

Not really nothing i mean imagine a young footballer winning the Fifa world player of the year and having the person who gave the award sing the praise of another player, i bet that young player would feel like crap that in his 'moment' the focus was thrown onto another player.

Exactly the same here, now i will not for one second call this girl talented but shes worked hard to win a award (whether we agree or not that she actually deserved it is not the point) and shouldnt have had someone take the mic from her during her speech to say "i think xxxx had a better video".

Either way you are right it was entertaining to the audience but still wrong

I'm sure some people think play acting, diving, cheating etc make football more interesting/ entertaining. Doesn't make it right.

Besides this is different. Not only is it a very rude and pathetic act ruining a young girls moment of receiving acknowledgment, it makes a mockery of what is supposed to be a celebration of music that year. It makes the award ceremony look rather rubbish when it's nominees can't behave themselves decently.

You can say what you want about him, but to call him "untalented" is ridiculous and ignorant in the extreme.

Come on you two, it's the MTV Video Music Awards...not only is it not the Nobel Peace Prize, it's not even the Oscars or the Grammy's..It's an entertainment show, mainly for the public rather than the entertainers themselves, whose nominations in the past have included 'Best Artists Website' and 'Best Ringtone' and whose sister show for Movies includes 'Best Kiss' and 'Best Fight' and thats hosted by Russell fecking Brand...For fecks sake. Regardless of what award show it is i just think it was a classless thing to do on Kanye's part. Im not trying to take the moral high-ground and agree that the coverage this has got compared to other more important events is over the top but at the same time you cant help but critise Kanye because it is clear that he really has got a few screws lose and in turn feel for Swift.

I'm not making this out to be an extremely big deal, i know it's not. It's hardly an extremely huge award either. But there's a way to conduct yourself and even most of us know how to, why can't this millionaire freak?

Serena Williams shouting at the lines lady or whatever you call that official at the US open wasn't an extremely huge deal either, but she deserved to get punished for it. Part of being 'good' is to punish 'bad', putting it very simply.
