Moyes So Far!

Er, yes. Alright. Clueless, clearly. Hasn't seen the man before. Nice that he thought he did well, though.

Everyone tells Dave how good Shinji is, but Shinji needs to prove it to Dave how good he really is. Because the guy that has won 2 Bundesligas and a Premier League is a clearly a nobody.

Everyone told Dave how good Thiago Alcantara was, but Thiago Alacantara couldn't prove it to Dave, so off he goes to the European Champions instead.

Everyone told Dave how good Ander Herrera was, but because Herrera couldn't prove it to Dave, the deal collapsed at the 11th hour.

The only players that don't need to prove anything to Dave are the Afro Donkey and Leighton Baines. Everybody else, needs to prove themselves to our Dave.

Nice.

Hysterical.

Seriously speaking who is the 'they' Moyes keeps referring to? Is it like 'them' in that Mel Gibson movie 'conspiracy theory'? :p

By Moyes talking like that it makes it sound like he doesn't pay attention to what our players do in training. Weird way of talking.

I'm not exactly happy with his first period in charge but let's give him some credit because the last game was a step in the right direction.

1. Our defense with Evans and Jones are making progress and they starts to look more solid. I give that to Moyes, let' see if he's brave enough to keep Vidic outside the starting line up for a while.

2. Our midfield is still our weakest line by a country mile. Playing Carrick in every game it's impossible so I hope he either use Microphone as a back up or buy a new DM in the January window. Playing Giggs again after his bad start was brave and I give Moyes credit for this too. But.... Buying one or two quality midfielders must be his top top priority next transfer windows because it's still embarrassing to see us use a 40 year old ex winger in the middle because we lack other options.

3. Rooney is back and Moyes must have full credit for this. This give us a positive side effect that we don't have to rely so heavily on RVP and that we finally can see Kagawa plays in his best position.

4. Our DNA is playing wide with two strong wingers and fill the box with numbers so we can create enough changes to score. Moyes seems to finally realize this and let's hope he keep this formula until our midfield problems is solved. Sad it took him nearly four month to understand this but credit to him for back track and use our strengths instead of playing with too offensive FBs.

5. High pressure is a most in today's football but without a defense who use the off side rule to minimize the opponents options playing forward it's pointless and just cost energy. Credit to Moyes for instructing Evans and Jones to take this extra steps forward, finally we start to look a bit more modern in our tactical set up. Next step for him is to get all eleven look like a synchronized unit when doing this.

Every step in the right direction is welcomed and let's hope Moyes finally drop his anxious approach and starts to go for it in every game.

Moyes was probably so used to managing Everton, that he never got his head around managing a team like United when he first came on board. It's a totally different ballgame, and he was like a deer in the headlights. Not surprising because he foolishly changed the whole backroom without even first tapping on their knowledge. I'm pretty sure he regrets that now.

He'll have learnt many harsh lessons during the summer transfer window and the first few weeks of the season. He's a good manager, but he was ill-prepared and painfully clueless about the whole United set-up. Hopefully with Fergie's help, he'll start turning things around soon. And i genuinely think he will, though to what extent I'm not sure.

The way we set up was good, but we played with a similarly high tempo against Liverpool in the capital one cup and it wasnt consistently implemented, so lets see if do it week in week out.

De Gea
Jones --- Evans
Smalling ----------------------- Evra
Carrick -------- Cleverley
Nani ----------- Rooney --------- Kagawa
van Persie

No complaints from many today (with maybe the exception of Rafael for Smalling, but the latter's inclusion can be justified as we're facing a physically imposing side, especially from set-pieces).

Much of the criticism directed at Moyes this year has been borne out of frustration that we're not playing our best attackers together, more so adopting a more pragmatic approach. Hopefully today we can show what we're capable of and stick a good few past Stoke. Hughes' nonsense talk about Old Trafford not being a fortress anymore should be shoved back up his bollocks pretty fast. Time to put that little myth to bed once and for all, and make teams fear us once again.

Everton fans' attitude has been really poor towards him, after everything he did for that club. 8 or 9 games into a season, they think Martinez is the better manager and Moyes held them back. Incredible. They slate him for leaving but fail to realise that if Roberto has any success, he'll be off to a bigger club as well.
Maybe he is a better manager. They're doing very well at the moment and Roberto didn't arrive there and say he needed six years either. Moyes might be a nice bloke but he's not doing too well with a supposedly better squad than Roberto

A very big 45 minutes coming up for Moyes. If this goes badly then I think a lot of people are going to start calling for his head. Probably justified as well.

Martinez came in and said 'I'll get you into the Champions League'. I don't think any but the most silliest of fans believe that but at least he is challenging himself and aiming high, rather than being negative.

The decision to start Smalling has gone well....It feels everything Moyes does so far goes wrong unfortunetly.

I thought he'd atleast make us more solid at the back.

Our defence is a joke. Like I said in match day thread, we got too much average. Smalling is not a fullback. Evra is past it now and Jones is hit and miss.

Lose this and we will be left with little choice. I can take a beasting from the big teams but to be outplayed by West Brom, Southampton and now Stoke at home is beyond a joke!

What do you mean ? He's not going anywhere.

I agree that this may be an important 45 minutes coming up for Moyes. At the very least, if we end up with another poor result at home vs. a mid-table team, he will be under a massive amount of pressure.

The fact we have someone on the bench because of his height, who was one of our best players last season and is substantially better in his position, both defensively and offensively than the player playing now, while the other team play non-hoofball football, is really frustrating.

What does this even mean? Everyone keeps saying Kagawa's a top player but he's yet to show that this season, it's pretty simple.

We did this against Stoke under Sir Alex too.

I hate hate hate center backs being played as right backs. Look at how useless Smalling is in attack. The players won't pass him the ball because they know it's no use. I had hoped that shit was over when SAF quit. Would rather see Fabio or a raw Varela if Rafael isn't available than either Smalling or Jones there.

Surely no one envisaged a start as terrible as this one? The managers struggling more than I ever thought he would.

After all the good decisions sir Alex made for us, did he get his last and possibly most important one wrong? I can't imagine we'd be playing like this if we had appointed mourinho instead

I hate to say it, but I think he's lost the players already. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of it, they just don't seem to care.

It's like when the Monstars lose all their powers in Space Jam, what the feck has happened to some of these players?

He definitely hasn't won over the players in the slightest.

I didn't and don't want Jose, but I agree this would not be happening if he was at the helm.

For Moyes it's not that he has lost the dressing room. He hasn't found it yet. But still the players need to be taking a lot of the blame as well. They haven't stepped up, most of them anyway

For me it still goes back to the summer, I never felt we needed an injection of quality players as much as we did last summer. It would have helped with the loss of the Fergie factor.

He's on the cusp of losing the players. If we lose today, the pressure from fans and media will quickly snowball. To put things in context, these are the "easy games" that were supposed give us some momentum between the difficult early schedule and the Arsenal fixture. It's beyond pathetic really.

If we lose today he is in massive trouble. Glazers will get very nervous. A season outside the CL would terrify them.
They ought to've backed him in the transfer market then. No point crying now is there. Let's hope they see sense and release sufficient funds next summer.

Glazers maybe should have spent some fecking money instead of blaming Moyes. We have the worst owners when it comes to spending.

What options do the Glazers have ? The only realistic one would be to ask Fergie to step in, but given that Moyes is Fergie's boy, its doubtful SAF would be amenable.

Don't think any world class player will want to play under Moyes unless we offer them sugar daddy wages.
