Manchester United vs Young Boys may move to neutral venue

100%. This match is a training match for us, and so all the days between Palace and Norwich should be used as such. It's the primary window Rangnick will have to get his ideas across in the short term.
Agree it's the best training opportunity we'll have before Christmas. We can even make 5 subs.

I'm meant to be taking my son to this, his first champions league game, for his birthday.

They can feck off with moving it, I'll be fuming.

feck Young Boys and UEFA.

There's hardly any logic here, plenty of countries will have confirmed cases during the next week or so, there's no guarantee that moving it to a neutral venue will change anything in regards to the neutral ones.

Furthermore, it would completely shaft Manchester United, giving up both revenue and being forced to travel.
:nervous::nono:

Contrary to others making their first trip in ages with family, I'd rather it be moved so I don't have to spend £45 watching a dead rubber given I can't opt out of it.

This whole approach to this new variant is utter idiocy. Half of the cases found where I live have no travel history.

Now that they're looking for it, they'll find it. If YB cannot make it, they can forfeit or send their youth. We played on their shite pitch away and we should get the home fixture which might mean around £5m in total if we win (assuming £30 per ticket).

Who cares about this game to be honest ?

We are sure to be 1st, we have points to win in the Premier League, so just let the bench warmers go to Italy, France or Spain.

This may well be Rangnick's first and only chance for the whole Xmas period to drill our team into a decent shape without worrying about the result.

Also, as I said, a win here is worth €3m.

It's a dead rubber on what is likely to be a freezing night so I'm not bothered personally but yeah, it's not very fair at all on people who have planned for months to get down to OT for this.

Hard disagree. It's a massive opportunity for the players to embrace the instructions of the new manager without having to worry about the outcome. It's a perfect game for us.

Fair shout. I didn’t think of it from that perspective. Was thinking of it from avoiding injuries etc, but you’re probably right

It doesn’t really make sense. Switzerland already have cases of Omicron and I don’t see how they are going to find a country in Europe that’s any less risk than the UK.

If they can’t send a team then they need to forfeit.

It's always nice when someone accepts your alternate view nowadays on the Internet. :)

In fairness, if the reverse happened to us in the knockout stages, imagine if the other team said "tough luck", and we had to forefit because of UK quarantine rules. We'd be fuming.

Glad that the game is going ahead I'm OT, but agreeing to move it if that wasn't possible would clearly be the sporting thing to do.

Have we not already finished top and secured qualification? If they cant play, they should forefit otherwise id expect to see a young squad gain some mins.
