Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Just seen the goal, wtf was Konchesky doing

right then i just got up for the second half (working bloody nights last night and tonight) so i need someone to fill me in here, 1-0 ! sexy!

berbatov?! nice, the boy finally coming good

how is the white pele doing? any signs of improvement?

is there an epic battle going on between torres and vidic like people predicted?

All they're talking about is Liverpool and how they've been wasteful. FFS what about Utd, what about Berba's header?? fecking biased cnuts.

Nani is getting better and better, becoming a real handful on the ball with his super quick feet. He looks to me like he is starting head towards becoming the player we hoped he would.

Rooney has lost the ability to strike a ball cleanly :(

Come on son, you look uninspired!

So if Konchesky's hand had completely stopped the ball, he would have seen red most likely, but just because the ball went in, it means he gets away with it. He could have very easily prevented that goal there.

Liverpool have been complete shite. All they've done is pointlessly knock the ball about hoping we don't win it back, and that's despite having the ref blatantly on their side.

We eased off too much imo, after a good start, but hopefully we'll be able to pick them off now.

Konchesky should have got yellow for th intentional handball. Red would have been had he prevented the goal.

Come on United - lets make sure we don't give this up.

Has given away possession numerous times, poor by his standards so far. Vidic is a brick wall; Torres has barely touched the ball.

1-0 HT:

That goal should give us the momentum to get a second and beyond hopefully, I can't see Liverpool nicking a goal from open play at the moment unless there are several changes.

Good build up play from us, but we need to be more incisive with crossing and take more shots, we don't want a repeat of Fulham/Everton, where our general play was top class, we lead in the game and then our lack of killer instinct and concentration bit us on the ass.

I couldn't see Everton getting 2 in injury time last week, but there you go. Liverpool will have to push someone to support Torres up front, be it Gerrard or Babel coming on for one of their DM. This game is far from over. After Fulham and Everton, I reckon we need to be 3 up going into the last 3 minutes to guarentee we get at least a point.

Had it not gone in i think he would have had to have gone off, im more aggreived about the carragher handball, would love to have seen the tosser sent off, hopefully come out second half and score an early one

Paul Scholes, Fulham...2 seasons back

Ok it went in, but it's still a handball on the line
Which completely changes it. Ffs, I can't believe people actually think that was a red card. The ball went IN, thus he didn't stop or deny a clear goal or goal scoring chance.

Besides which, I'm pretty sure he was behind the line anyway.

It was intentional...thus a red card

Their player on the line should have seen red

Not sure failing to prevent a goalscoring opportunity is a red card offence. Unless you'd rather the ref disallow the goal, award a penalty, and then send him off. Which would have just been unbelievably retarded.

He should given given a freekick on the edge for the Carragher handball though, and he keeps giving Liverpool freekicks when they players just fall over.

Regarding Konchesky's handball on the line:

If a player commits a professional foul but the team scores a goal due to the advantage played (or in this case, the ball is going in anyway) the player should be punished with a yellow card.

Clears that up, cheers...he was however shown no card at all

Need a 2nd goal. Don't really have much faith in our defense to hang on if it's just a 1 goal lead :nervous:

Berba has been good, Nani's been very involved as well. Rooney's form is still a bit worrying though.

Was expecting one of Martin Tyler/Andy Gray at least, commentary has been rubbish.

Apparently Chelsea - Blackpool is the bigger game. The punter loves seeing Chelsea thump yet another shite side 5-0
