Manchester United 0:1 Atletico Madrid (Sat 30th July, 12:45 UK time)

Bruno has been playing much safer in pre-season which is what most people were saying they wanted last season. I personally don't like it. I want him trying risky passes and creating chances. I imagine his pass % is higher in these games than most last season but he's creating nothing. I want his pas % in the 70-75% range because that's the range that all the best creators fall into.

"Fernandes trying to play a clever little pass there. Didn't quite work out."

I never get tired of hearing that from commentators.

It's a shame that we haven't given Pellestri a go with the first team in place of Elanga for the second half. Would have liked to see him with a full strength team.

Maguire
Maguire all round has had a really strong pre season. Bruno's on borrowed time at this point, he's been the breaking down point for moves time and time again.

Yep. Harry is slowly but surely rebuilding his reputation as a good, solid defender.

Maguire is actually pretty good.

That must mean that twitter memes aren't necessarily the best way to understand football.

Think I'm going back to watching without the thread. Cafe hasn't changed a bit.

Wish our games were behind close doors so our match day thread can have @Rams dropping jokes every page.
Much better than constantly hearing how shite this player or that player is. :wenger:

Elangas movement just feels all wrong. Bruno giving it away constantly today too. The rest have been excellent imo

If you told me Bruno's pass percentage with his back to goal was below 20% I'd absolutely believe it.

Really poor from Elanga. Takes too long on the ball and makes the wrong decision more often than not.

There’s a difference between you nothing thinking he’s very good and him not being very good. 2 different statements. Pretty comprehensible.

If I say he's not very good, I'm clearly stating my opinion. Didn't think that warranted a dummy disclaimer.

Pre season. Let's see how he gets on when we play a few competitive games. Varane and martinez could be ahead of him

Our passing is sloppy as anything. We're good off the ball but as soon as we win it back we lose possession within seconds
