Manchester United 0:1 Atletico Madrid (Sat 30th July, 12:45 UK time)

This whole collective pressing has really limited the "we have no DM" posts. Under Ole it would have definitely been brought up

Why no try Bruno on the right in this game and play Eriksen? Hope to see Garner involved in the 2nd half.

AM have some heavy hitters in their ranks - you don't really think "star studded" when you think of them, but then you look at their squad and think ... wow!

Was wondering during the first half, what's the more gruelling experience: playing vs Atletico or playing vs Burnley?

The fact that the Spaniards also have quality and that the stakes are usually higher tips it towards Atletico I reckon

You need to stop fighting this fight. Bruno hasn't been at this club long enough for you to be this attached to him to create your own reality. The guy just isn't very good and that's OK

Bruno is actually very good. Problem is that he tends to go box to box while he is supposed to focus more on his AM role. As a result it tends to take away his stamina and makes him more susceptible to mistakes.

If he keeps himself focused on playmaking, we have a top top playmaker.

They have almost guaranteed CL money every season. Helps with building a deep squad.

I can only judge him on what he's doing and not "ifs", unfortunately. Hopefully Eriksen displaces/offers some real competition his way

Yes, Chief123. My primary directive is to make sense to you.

I don't rate Bruno Fernandes as a very good footballer. Seems pretty comprehensible.
There’s a difference between you nothing thinking he’s very good and him not being very good. 2 different statements. Pretty comprehensible.

Maguire all round has had a really strong pre season. Bruno's on borrowed time at this point, he's been the breaking down point for moves time and time again.
