Expect their players to stay. Possibly some
New bonus’s negotiated for them for the next 2 seasons. No player is going to leave because they want to win the UCL.

We were going off topic about PSG, we've discussed in the 1st pages why the situation was totally different with City. Don't worry, i'm well aware the matters are totally different. Some here don't though since i've been reading "PSG is surely next" all over the place.

Sure but the false accounting fraud will kind of hurt them, and it will be outside of football.
 
I heard an expert talking about citeh earlier. This ban is not for breaking FFP rules. Both Citeh and PSG were dealt with in 2014 and moved on. This is about providing false documents or lying about it. They weren’t simply breaking the rules they have been caught trying to conceal the facts. Cheating.

My personal life isn't going through anything particularly drastic, I just recently moved in to my first home and my interests are moving into other areas now. I'd much rather watch a TV show I'm yet to see, or watch an old movie, or read a book, that sort of thing. Watching football, discussing football, it's all pretty tiring. I only really come on Redcafe because it's a good place to discuss TV and entertainment.

I've been feeling fatigued towards football in general for a while now. I've had some excellent times with City over the years but the only reason I still have a season ticket is because I forgot to cancel it last year. The last home game I went to last season was the 6-0 win over Chelsea - after that I just stopped going. I thought I'd get the bug back once this new season started but I've not been since we beat Watford 8-0.

I'm generally in favour of VAR but it's symptomatic of one of the bigger problems in the game right now, which is that we take the game far too seriously and can't accept that sometimes things go wrong. Racist incidents at Premier League grounds are on the rise in a big way, the way we talk to each other on social media about the teams we support is incredibly aggressive and confrontational, and the game is driven so much by profit that we have to over-analyse every margin.

I don't know if I have the energy or the inclination anymore to keep up anymore.

Barcelona and Athletico Madrid have mugged them off recently. Presumably so have PSG.

Man City have known that this is coming for 2 years, they will have already thrown a lot of money at resolving this in their favour.

How long can they drag out an appeal? At least 8 months, and by that time they will be playing in the CL next season.
 
Did they mention in the judgement that Kinkladze was the biggest load of overrated shit in the history of football? That’s the real crime here.

Unless they’re forced to reduce the wage budget no ones going to leave, but i makes it a lot harder for them to attract and spend in the summer now.

The breach must have not only been egregious but ongoing. The kind that forces even a corrupt body to take action. Someone at Uefa must have felt insulted by the obvious phony accounting City kept submitting annually
 
I am losing the love for football now it is totally corrupt. Everyone knew this was going on with city and all these so called journalist defending them should hold their heads in shame. City should be stripped of everything they have won from the time they started FRUAD. It's as simple as that, they got into a position by previously cheating. But the FA and PL will do nothing.

Nah Chelsea tried that crap about getting their transfer ban removed until after the appeal and that was thrown out, they'll be out next year in my opinion.

Someone should ask guardiola again "who pays your wages" at the next press conference.

They still claim to have only the third highest wage bill in the league. The cheating continues and this ban should not be the end of it.

Pep gone in the summer I reckon. Every move they make now under major scrutiny, including transfers.

Ok, I understand that worry, but I'd enjoy the 'good' every once in a while in this horrific season.
 
The timing in terms of where they are as a team is excellent. Fernandinho, Silva, Aguero all leaving this summer or next, they've been in need of a proper rebuild as it is. Won't be the kind of rebuild city fans had in mind now, I wager.

You’re right, it’s downright disgraceful. We always used to wonder how the Madrids and the Barcelonas never came in for their stars whilst United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham etc. got raided every time they produced the next wonderplayer. It might be reaching but maybe they had no reason to leave as they were being paid way more than City officially claimed and the Spanish or European giants couldn’t afford to pay those figures. It’s certainly plausible.

Great point. That, along with the pre existing doubts around Pep, indicate it could be very challenging for City. If the ban stands then the likes of KDB would be 31 before they could play CL football again. Can't see him giving his prime years away like that when he'll want to win the EC.

Also it seems the FA will have some say in this and it will ripple down to a punishment domestically.

Martin Samuel from the daily racist and also sky panelist is already on the city defence. His view is its teams saddled with debt like united that's at fault. Poor city broke rules that were put in place to protect the big clubs.
No doubt see him on sky tomorrow with freshly dyed hair from his lovely bride spitting fury at city being treated so poorly.
 
The other thing is that without CL money, the players will also take a pay cut? Or do they still get paid regardless -- which would be a massive hit on their bottom line. Then like any vicious cycle, this will make Citeh further fall foul of FFP requirements in the near future.

There may be a massive cost reduction programme underway of this ban is upheld.
 
City in league 2 would really make Liverpool winning the league an easier pill to swallow. I doubt that will happen though.
 
This is the argument of 'bitter United' from 2008/9/10 when City became the richest in the world.

I remember having arguments about how United should be able to spend as we earned our profits via success on the pitch and brand marketing. I remember being told I was simply bitter because City were spendibg a shit ton of money.

This is why we had this argument... because City, Chelsea, PSG had this artificial financial doping and wouldn't survive such scrutiny.
