Television Lost: Season 5

the timeline cannot be changed....otherwise they don't crash and thus jacob doesn't die and locke doesn't die which makes last seasons finale pointless.

the writers are taking the piss with the promos.

Err they can easily do it, who said they had to scrap the origional timeline?

So according to the promo's Oceanic Airlines never crashed.

So Jack did change the past ? and Hurley became the owner of a burger restaurant ?

I think whats going to happen is there will be two timelines, maybe not for the whole season but for the start atleast there will be

Yeah, about time they convoluted the storyline. Nothing like great storytelling, eh?

Personaly I would hate it if they went with another timeline, be it with the current one intacked or not, sadly it seems this will be the case.

Heres hoping they make me eat my words :D

The name of the first episode will be "LA X"

Greg Grunberg's One Last Hurrah On 'Lost'?

Before he played a telepathic cop, Greg Grunberg was a pilot for the doomed Oceanic Flight 815, a character who died before the first episode of "Lost" on ABC even ended.

It was part of J.J. Abrams' continuing signature of having his old friend Grunberg a part of every project he is a part of (including most recently in "Star Trek" where he played the voice of Kirk's stepfather who calls the young boy while he's racing the Corvette). But now he might be heading back to "Lost."

"If NBC will allow it, I will go back," Grunberg told TV Guide Magazine.

Grunberg is not exactly sure what he will be doing on the show, because the entire conversation consisted of asking if he was available and getting Grunberg's response.

"That's literally where my call ended," he said.

Well I think that pretty much confirms there will be two timelines :(

And I dont think thats a spoiler Vida as its just speculation, if anything the bit thats not in the spoiler tag is a spoiler :D

LA should mean Los Angeles but i still haven't figured out what would X mean ??

i think the whole cast of season 1 is back. i dont like where the story is going with two time lines. i would have preferred that because of the nuclear explosion they sync again with the current time when locke is in charge and ben kills jacob and continue the story from there.

LA X is the airport in LA that they were going to land in, so basicaly its a defo confirmation of the second timeline.

And yeah, I totaly agree, this second timeline is a realy bad move imo. The only good thing coming of this is as you say some old cast members returning but is there realy going to be enough time in this one season to explain all the new questions that will no doubt be raised in the new season aswell as tieing up the whole story in a good and not stupid way?

I sadly doubt it.

Maybe it will be a one-episode long series as they all land safely in LA and continue their everyday lives as if nothing ever happened.

there is one good thing about this being the first of the season, and that is that it means that wont be the ending of Lost as many have speculated previously

I think its definitely a red herring. They wouldn't give something so obvious away in the Episode title. They've been trying to get us to think about the alternative timeline from their Comic-con conference, the ads and now the title, but I honestly don;t think they'll go that way.

Possible, they did say the red fish in the beginning of the Season 5 finale was an indicator of a red herring but didnt say to what it was

I know this has already been posted, but this is something i noticed, look at the "E" in "Destiny" at the end of the vid.

Looks like a white smoke monster which has been speculated to make an appearence for a few years now

If you look carefully, you can see the letters "abc" in the eye that opens at the end. This clearly symbolizes the journey through the alphabet that the Lost writes have taken during the series:

A - aeroplane
B - beach
C - crash
D - death

etc.

Where does "Etc" come into it? ;)

Anyway - continue....

God help us if Matt fecking Parkman is going to be in Lost again.

Karen in Lewistown, Mont.: Any scoop on how Juliet will return to Lost?
Besides what Elizabeth Mitchell herself teased, Josh Holloway hopes for a special Suliet reunion. "Maybe she'll be this beautiful angel that appears and you can have this erotic scene," he jokes. In all honestly, Josh doesn't have a clue what's going to happen with Juliet, but he does know how it affects Sawyer in the new season. "Now that he's lost Juliet, I think the leader-hero thing is gone. I think he doesn't give a s--t to be anyone's leader at this point. He's heartbroken. He's back to 'The world sucks' and maybe throughout this season someone can redeem him again and bring him back from hell, because right now, he's in hell."

Dan in Orange, Calif.: Is there any hope for Sawyer next season on Lost
Do you mean, is there hope that the executive producers won't kill Sawyer in the final season? Josh Holloway isn't holding his breath on that one. Josh tells us, "Knowing Damon Lindelof, Sawyer must die. Maybe Carlton Cuse will soften. I always thought he should die. I think he should die because him and society is never going to work, so why go back?"

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

The next season is going to be the last one?

Didn't they say there was going to be 8 seasons?

be warned!!

Not-Locke beats the crap out of Richard. After Richard is taken down, Not-Locke looks across the faces of everyone watching. He waves his finger and says, “I’m very disappointed in all of you.”

When does this start up again? And Heroes, and House?

I just watched the two first episodes. Can't believe it has been 5 years since I last saw them. One thing I noticed was that the actor who played the air plane pilot is the same guy who is Parkman in Heroes.

I also noticed this, 2:35 in.

Started a project consisting of re-watching the entire show today and noticed the exact same things when I saw those episodes. Great minds eh?

What happens at 2.35?

wait I just realised this is the season 5 thread...why was this bumped?

Oh and Livvie, "Two players, two sides, one is light, one is dark."

Oh right. I thought that was a given though - there's usually good/bad in all these things!
