Television Lost: Season 5

In answer to your question, yes, the month was confirmed ages ago. The only thing that still hasn't been confirmed is the actual day it starts.

read this :eek: whether its true is anyone's guess.

Sayid is very paranoid. He's been picking off Widmore's associates and Widmore has some hired guns looking for him. Sayid and Hurley are driving in a car and they get shot at. Sayid escapes the shooters. He tells Hurley that Ben set them up with a near-bye safehouse. Sayid and Hurley head inside the safehouse. Widmore's operative's are inside. It's one man and a women. Sayid seems to know the women and has previous tangles with her. Sayid gets shot in the torso by the women. Sayid is able to knock her unconscious and Hurley takes care of business with the other guy (I believe this is the part that is shown in the trailer). Hurley helps the shot up Sayid out of the house. Sayid tells Hurley to wait and Sayid takes out a tiny GPS transponder. Sayid finds the girls cell phone and he takes out the battery and places the transponder.

In fake Los Angeles, Kate gets a visit from her probation officer. He has apparently gotten a tip from a mystery source regarding Kate leaving the State which is a big no-no for her probation. The officer sees Kate's bags and concludes she is a flight risk. He handcuffs her and Aaron comes out of his room and sees all of this. Kate apoligizes to Aaron and starts crying. The officer tells Kate he will call Child Protection Services to take care of Aaron. Kate cries out and the officer takes her out the front door and towards his vehicle. We hear a gunshot and the officer goes down. Kate looks around in disbelief, she doesn't know what's going on. She's able to grab the handcuff keys from the officers keyring and she looks for his car keys. She comes across an Identification card, this man isn't a probation officer, he works for Mr. Charles Widmore. Kate and Aaron take off and Kate is left wondering who the shooter was.

Long story short. Locke is captured and shot with an arrow. The ancient elements this season only include the last generation of the island's original inhabitants, they are a dying civilization whose numbers you can count on a single pair of hands. These people have been stricken by a disease since a new group of people arrived on the island and they have been massacred. They are not part of Alpert's group, and Alpert's group is separate but the two groups co-exist peacefully and have a VERY LONG history of peace. Alpert was part of the inhabitants group at one time but that was a very long time ago and he sort of succeeded and formed his own group. Locke greatly disrupts this peace when he attempts to escape his captors. Locke kills Bomani, who is Asim's younger brother. Locke is recaptured. Asim is hugely effected by his brothers death and he will have his vengeance. Asim takes Locke up to their encampment. The inhabitants think Locke is with the bad people and that he looks like the "bad man" from "her visions". Who this "her" is not touched on but these people have these ancient looking cave images of someone with an arrow sticking out of his thigh, and they think it's Locke, and they are certain he will cause a great disturbance in their life and to the island itself. So they decide they need to kill Locke. Alpert watches in the distance, cautious to reveal himself. As Asim is about to kill Locke, Alpert steps out. Asim and the others act if their seeing a god, quite literally.

Alpert demands Locke's release and he reiterates some sort of truce that has gone unbroken for a VERY LONG time. Alpert starts to speak to the elders to broker peace but Asim won't let his brother die in vain. He runs into the caves and does something down there and then we hear the unmistakable sound of the smoke monster. This is all CGI and he has no idea what happens in this specific part. What is clear is that the smoke monster is very different and it scares the shit out of Locke. Alpert has some sort of control or connection to the smoke monster and he's able to squelch the problem. Asim however is another story and he's still gunning for Locke.

Alpert tells Locke to head to the coastline to seek refuge. Locke does and eventually comes across Sawyer. Sawyer doesn't understand why Locke is running for his life and Sawyer says he hasn't heard anything. Locke says that "he's seen it", and that they need to get the hell off the island. Locke and Sawyer run towards Juliet, Charlotte, Miles, and Daniel and they get into a small canoe and head off the island. Daniel is writing out messages and equations into the air with his finger and Locke looks at him like what the hell happened to this guy.

Out in the water, Sawyer campaigns for everyone to head back to the island. Locke is adamant that they stay out in the water. In the distance they see a object floating. Sawyer takes control and pushes Locke aside. The object in the the water is of course Jin. I think everyone saw this coming. Juliet tends to his wounds but they are severe and Juliet says they need to go back to the island to get the proper medical stuff to save Jin. Locke loses the argument and they eventually reach the beach. Juliet says she knows where a basic first aide medical cache is located. Juliet eventually gets to the location but there's no medical supplies.

It should be noted that Faraday is not having any flashes or traveling back or forward in time. He's just plain crazy and he has no idea how he got to the island. Faraday is still acting weird and he is still writing out something in the air. He looks at a page from his notebook, and he smiles and takes off running. The others are all tending to Jin so they can't stop him.

What is it? If it's possible spoilers I don't want to know.

That looks like a description of the entire first episode or something.

LOST Returns for Season 5:

Our prayers have been answered! ABC has just confirmed to me that Lost has received an official premiere date for season five, and even better, it's a smidgen earlier than expected.

On Wednesday, Jan. 21, Lost returns with a three-hour (you heard me, three-hour!) premiere. "Because You Left" and "The Lie" will air back-to-back, following a recap of the first four seasons (for the very few people who aren't already addicted and/or obsessed).

So what does this mean for ABC's Wednesday-night lineup?

After the Lost extravaganza premiere, the series will continue on Wednesday nights at 9.

Lost is wank - watched the first two or three seasons with eager anticipation and was a big fan, really enjoyed my Thursday nights in consisting of the incredibly cheesy yet addictive Amazing Race then Lost. I'm sorry, but there's only so much nonsence people can take; the cliffhangers and stupid bollocks of not knowing what the feck's going on or who people are is annoying as all feck.
I can honestly say I watched feck all of Season Four and am in no way mithered by that fact. Season Five therefore will make even less sense.
Heroes is going the same way, that was another good show going downhill.

You're wrong. I agree with you on Heroes, but Lost actually went uphill the last season. It was a great season, and the fact that you haven't even seen it disqualifies you from making an informed opinion on Lost as it is now.

You have to be patient with it at times, especially at the start of season 2 and 3. But if you stick with it you will be rewarded. Season 4 was just awesome.

Heroes has been shit consistently apart from one or two decent eps in the first season so comparing the two isnt very logical to me.

Season 4 was pants. If Jin is truly dead, his last scenes were rubbish. Crap way to die. And Ben's scene near the end - And I love Ben - but his scene about killing Penelope was rubbish too. Some parts of season 4 were good, better than some parts of season 2 thats for sure but for me a lot of characters have lost their way or I've stopped caring about them due to some actions they've taken.

Jack used to be a great leader, Locke used to know what he was doing - Both of them just seemed like idiots after the last series. In fact, only Ben and maybe Desmond a tiny bit, comes away with any credability after the previous series.

I'll definately be watching the first few episodes of the next series because at times during these previous 4 serious, this show has been twice as good as that Heroes crap ever was. But they need to stop fannying around with the strong characters and get through the "I'll kill your daughter" storyline fast.

lost is the best tv series ever.

fecking yanks dont have the patience...they always want things done fast. gimps.

jack has always taken the wrong decisions and locke took the correct decisions most of the time and was made to look like a gimp when he refused to the input the numbers in the computer inside the swan hatch.

sawyer should have been the leader and i like what the writers are doing with his character now. He made both jack and locke look like idiots when he got the guns for himself in season 2.

looks like jack and sawyer are going to play an important role with ben and locke being leaders who guide them.

and no jin in the poster!

Cool poster, I hope we don't have too much Hurley in his cell, and lots of Desmond and that fox Penny.

Can't wait for the new series
