Sort of sums up every performance he has had so far! Still he is a great team player and he won't care one bit if he doesn't score at all if he keeps performing as he does and Argentina keep winning. Great player.

Even when Messi doesn't play like god you have to admire him. One of the things that's been pissing me off over the last few seasons is these wankers who seem to think it's funny when they miss a chance or make a blunder, with their gormless little half-smiles. Messi looked properly fecked off when he hit the post.

Today was almost like a practice match for Argentina. It's a shame that Greece are in this tournament, they should have gone out for the win yet they offered nothing. Could see Maradona's reasoning for playing Messi, purely to get him on the goal sheet. Unfortunately that did not happen.
So far there hasn't really been a clear standout for best player in this world cup. If Messi performs as he does and Argentina go far he'll get that crown. Can't help but think they and Messi would get unstuck against Brazil.
Let's not forget Messi got nowhere against Mourinho's Inter.
